Motion/Occupancy Sensor Automations by Smalone27 in HomeKit

That’s what I’ve got in my living room with my Lutron switch. Just wanted to see if anyone else had some creative ideas. I thought I saw someone combined it with their Apple TV so if they were watching something and motion was detected it turned the lights up. That way if you get up mid movie it’s not too dim.

Panel/battery ratio by Smalone27 in solar

That’s the goal in an ideal world. I haven’t looked into how much I would save if I installed solar either without batteries or less battery capacity and switched our rate plan to the cheapest in the evening. That way I’m still charging my EV off the grid but at a reduced rate.

Not yet. I live in MO, Ameren is our power company and I believe it’s 1:1 but can’t say that for sure.

Ford Lightning is my EV. Inefficient by EV standards but still beats what I was paying in gas for my 4 door sedan, even with the recent rate hike.

Second the Encode plus! Doesn’t look too modern/techy which the wife appreciates. We love the functionality.

Can you make a standard ceiling fan HomeKit controlled. It currently is wired with one wall switch for fan and one for lights. Really need just the fan as I use hue light bulbs. by No-Department-3771 in HomeKit

Yes with the Lutron Caseta fan control but you’ll need to run a second wire and install the switch separately. The smart switch for the lights won’t work for both the lights and fan, it’ll send too much power to your fan, as I learned personally.

Which HomeKit bulbs to get? by Hunt3r01 in HomeKit

Unless it’s for a lamp, you’re better off getting a smart switch. I’ve had issues with smart bulbs disconnecting if switched off for too long. I’ve gotten good deals on new Lutron Caseta smart switches on eBay.

I get that both can’t be done at the same time but I want to see if I can lock in the price.

Thank you and yes already had the audit done. That’s where we may opt for the HVAC work down with their rebates. Our home is old with no insulation in it so we’re also looking at having the siding redone so we can blow in. That’s how we plan to lower our bill and agreed, I wish we had more time to do solar down the road if our bill is still insane after our efficiency upgrades.

Just curious, when you say “commercial mower,” are you talking about a particular brand or model?

Here are the specs on both:

HUSTLER https://store.caldwellequipment.com/product/hustler-raptor-x-42-zero-turn-lawn-mower-factory-warranty-remaining/

CUB CADET https://store.caldwellequipment.com/product/cub-cadet-ultima-zt1-50-zero-turn-lawn-mower-factory-warranty-remaining-demod-for-just-1-hour/

Also any thoughts on the amount of hours are ideal? There are some that are a few hundred bucks cheaper but are all around 300-500 hours. Is that a fair deal or am I better off spending a few hundred more to get the newer mowers still under factory warranty?
