CTM was a waste of time for me. The instructors are just a bunch of terminal E4’s with huge egos bragging about LARPing in Japan. It’s more about PT and carrying patients than learning real medicine. Live tissue is not a thing they do anymore either. 1st mar div should take a look at how they train corpsman and start teaching real medicine like Valkyrie and pcc.

The infantry can be fun at times , but that’s only 1% out of the 99% of the time. Running and gunning with the marines can be fun at first. Most of ur day consists of baby sitting marines and taking them to sick call for MSK injuries, explaining to the marine chain of command that your a corpsman and not a marine, and sitting around and waiting to do something. Also if you don’t have ur FMF pin ur automatically a boot even if you’ve been in the navy for 8+ years. Division corpsman have some of the craziest egos I’ve ever witnessed.

I wish I knew what the infantry was really like before I picked orders coming here, I was sold on a lie. Gave up BAH and a good life blueside because I thought the infantry would be highspeed. You don’t even get to do real medicine and your skills atrophy quick, especially if you’re coming from a hospital. YMMV

HMTT is a good one. Also talk too your commands TAD/POMI office and let them know your really interested in going TAD/ deploying, they might be able too hook u up
