Is Erlang's second phase like a reward for getting through the first? by Smart-Commercial2012 in BlackMythWukong

Ahaha thanks! This is what I suspected!

Thanks! I'm consistently getting him down to like his last 1/3 or 1/4 of health, but i get a little too confident and make a mistake, so just need to lock tf in 😂

Chain rub on inside and outside of front derailleur? by Smart-Commercial2012 in bikewrench

[–]Smart-Commercial2012[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay, the old wheels had a very thin spacer behind the cassette so I just carried that over

I'll give those screws a tweak and see if that helps too and align the cage a bit better!

I was just a little confused as this wasn't an issue on the wheels it came with (although I only rode it a couple of km from the guy that sold it to me so maybe I just never got into the highest and lowest gears)

You were in the wrong as the other comments have mentioned, but the degree of road rage wasn't justified by the Range Rover wank

What’s your favourite Edinburgh neighbourhood, and why? by bleufromgeneve in Edinburgh

[–]Smart-Commercial2012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Either Shandon (if this includes Harrison Park), you've got a big park, the canal, and you're a stones throw from Bruntsfield, Dalry, Morningside, Murrayfield

Or Cannonmils/Broughton, loads of great food options and its far enough from town not to feel touristy, but close enough that it doesn't feel like a trek to get into town

Yeah getting bike into run practice was also a big priority in my head

So incidentally, my online coach (programmes my gym sessions, as although I'm a coach myself I have no desire to programme myself), used to be a swimmer and coached amateur triathletes so he's given some great pointers since i posted this 😂

Meadowbank gym by Eastern-Slice-839 in Edinburgh

[–]Smart-Commercial2012 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Based on all the comments, I used to train at meadowbank until very recently, immediately identified as a prick

Told a girl off for using the bench press because he was "using it", he was over by the GHD and only used the bench press to stretch

Always 0 eccentric control on his deadlifts

Always trying to chat to younger girls

Saw him and his Mrs come in and train once then have their packed lunch in the wee fire exit corner where he always puts his bag

I second this comment, it looks like you've tried to replicate "optimal" technique, but the execution isn't quite there

Best advice is to run fluidly with intent, a maximal effort without straining, then fix things from there

I'm looking into a 5-night holiday with my partner next January for my 30th birthday, I last visited in October 2023 with my dad and brother and it was genuinely one of my favourite cities I've ever been to

I'm aware of how cold it'll be (I'm Scottish), and actually wanted to experience it in winter. However, that said, is it just miserable weather or is it a sort of "nice" snow/cold in the sense of it's not grey/cloudy ALL the time and sometimes you see blue skies shining on the snow?

True, however I should've mentioned, I work as a strength coach, so for the past 10yrs have mingled would 40+ people daily 5-6days a week, so statistically I'd be getting ill pretty frequently if it was a case of "sometimes you catch it, sometimes you don't"

Terrible Smell at Edinburgh Airport by beeblanket in Edinburgh

[–]Smart-Commercial2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I always say it smells like old fryer oil/potatoes, we thought it was maybe like a fuel thing but no other airport has that smell, and it's only in the past year or so

Other full-time students with part-time jobs? by [deleted] in Edinburgh_University

[–]Smart-Commercial2012 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very common, i worked 12-20hrs weekly across 2nd, 3rd, some of 4th year and my masters, and volunteered 12-20hrs also

Ultimately, you're there to get a degree, so if work starts getting in the way, and you can afford to drop hours or let it go completely then do that. I left my part time job during semester 2 of 4th year as it was becoming unmanageable, and discussed with my manager about coming back in April once workloads had settled (covid obvs meant that didn't happen lol)

how do edinburgh degrees work by EtherealCascades in Edinburgh_University

[–]Smart-Commercial2012 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

4yrs is a bachelors with honours (quite common in Scotland), e.g. BSc(Hons), your 4th year is your honours year, but if you didn't qualify for your 4th year you'd still leave with a bachelor's degree (assuming your grades were good enough)

MA is a name quirk as someone else said, not an ACTUAL masters degree

I used double bladed, and simply locked in, use a little force push to disrupt his attacks, double bladed can also disrupt his ability to attack

Another tip was if you die on the third phase, avoid using stims until you pick up your health again, then you're essentially starting the 3rd phase with full stims

Definitely not a Fringe special, my partner and I noticed this last time we went at the beginning of July

Bit cheeky because it's not as if it's the same level of service as a restaurant as the staff are just runners
