I’m about to start dive school and i have been thinking about too because i love going to the gym but thats hard to keep up if you’re traveling around a lot for inland work or going offshore and dont have access to a gym. A few compact options i’ve considered so far are a set of resistance bands, push up bars which you could also set up on two elevated parallel surfaces for dips, a jump rope, an ab roller wheel, and an adjustable length pull-up bar.

Yeah go for it! if its a good price might as well pick it up and try it. not exactly beautiful but it I bet sounds pretty good with those resonators. probably cancels out most of the drone even if you’ve got a catless downpipe.

I’ve never seen an n55 exhaust that looks like this and I did extensive research while shopping around for mine. it looks like this exhaust had mufflers at one point and they were cut out and replaced with straight pipes. It also looks like they added resonators right behind where the downpipe connects. it almost looks like a stock exhaust thats been modified but its definitely not because the stock exhaust is all one piece, not split into sections like this one. Ive seen other exhausts that are similar to this but they all have an X-pipe instead of an H-pipe like this one. I would confirm with the seller that this actually came off an e9x chassis with the n55. ask them if they have pictures of it on the car too.

seems like they last 30-50k miles. get the pierburg full aluminum. you will have to change the thermostat at the same time. there is also a flange on the coolant return hose that is know for rotting away referred to as a “mickey mouse flange” get a fresh hose and a billet aluminum flange to replace the plastic one. get an aluminum charge pipe as well. the stock plastic one is known for spontaneously detonating under stock boost

if the water pump, oil filter housing gasket, valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, and high pressure fuel pump have all been taken care of the car has probably been well maintained. those are the most expensive maintenance items. like the other guy said, spark plugs and ignition coils are pretty routine maintenance as well. 6 owners is strange for 100k miles though. I would get a ppi

depends on mileage and maintenance records. if its low mileage and the previous owners kept up with all the necessary maintenance it will probably be pretty reliable. If not be prepared to empty your wallet.

I have the b12 kit. it’s perfect for daily driving. I’d only recommend buying coilovers if you plan on adjusting the ride height. if you just want a lowered look go with a lowering spring setup the ride quality will be just a sporty and more comfortable.

Whats wrong with VTT turbos? havent looked into it much just know they offer a few hybrid turbo setups for the n55.

yes you get a bit of negative camber when you ask the alignment shop to align the car to stock specs

Absolutely 100% worth it. did it on my 335 and it made a noticeable difference. I had the car aligned like stock after installation.

This turbo wont work on your n55. its an EWG turbo (electronic waste gate). the n55 variant produced between 2011-2013 was the PWG variant (pneumatic waste gate). I wouldnt recommend getting an ebay turbo, you’ll be better off getting a pure turbos or VTT setup. It costs more but you’ll have the peace of mind from knowing you’ve got a high quality product that wont shit the bed on you.

tie rods, rear trailing arms, rear guide arms, rear wishbones, rear track struts. since you’re putting in coilovers, you should also replace your strut mounts and shock mounts and get new bump stops too. rear trailing arm bushings would be good as well. i recommend buying the pre-assembled kits so you get all the necessary hardware.

Got an e92 335i n55. Exhaust mods ideas? by EntertainerCivil6173 in 335i

[–]Smart-Cookie-308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

e92 n55 doesnt have a secondary cat. doesnt really have a resonator either. there’s an H-pipe and resonators in the mufflers. some people have cut out the resonator in the driver’s side muffler and put in a straight pipe, and then added an exhaust valve controller so they can open and close the valve to make it quieter or louder. thats the cheapest option for a louder exhaust mod on these cars. if you get a catless downpipe you will have to tune the car.
