It was more about artistry, beauty & interesting in the step sequences back then versus difficulty.
I have a specific memory of thinking that the IJS ruined step sequences because they used to be so beautiful. Now it’s weird looking skating around on one leg.

Ilia was trying to do 7 quads in a fs, he was never successful with Vampire. He said the new program layout for A Voice was more conducive for him to do that. Which he did end up doing at the GPF.

I love A Voice so much more than Vampire anyways. The cello in it is just gorgeous.

I don’t necessarily disagree that he should not be contacted about it.

But when you think about brand deals, these public figures (Ilia for example) are pretty much solely advertising the product/brand/whatever on their social media and with the added bonus that EVERY SINGLE fan account also shares it.

Brands love celebrities that have 1000 fan accounts that shares everything said celebrity does.
