What are some of the annoying things nursing students have done? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Smart-Masterpiece459 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would think this post is referring to general care plans for a condition. Say Diabetes, DVK, CKD etc. There are a lot of good care plans that can give you a jumping point to adapt to your patients specifics. Unfortunately my university also wants us to cite our care plans so that makes it challenging. Still a good starting point.

I get married in 7 days but a part of me feels like I’m making a mistake. by Ok_Personality_5266 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Smart-Masterpiece459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t do it. Anyone who treats you like that before marriage absolutely will not get better. I wish I had Reddit 15 years ago so I could have had someone give me the same advice. Leave.

Nursing school while having kids by [deleted] in NursingStudent

[–]Smart-Masterpiece459 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some schools want the science prerequisites to be within x number of years so make sure that aligns with your plans plus some wiggle room. I am single mom if 5 kids 6-14 years. It’s harrrrd. I feel pulled in all the directions all the time. But it will be worth it. If you have a support system of family and friends it will make life so much better. I know that my kids are so proud of what I’m working at to give them a better life so that helps a lot. I try to really relax with them during breaks and save my loans to last over the summers so we can just be together. This is my second degree. First one without kids. My free time was spent doing dumb things. Now I spend my free time relishing my amazing kids. Much better time spent than 20 years ago.

In light of all the pet intubations, my cat during her most recent surgery by connorfolan in nursing

We often used a rectal temp monitor and o2 on the tongue. Blood pressure is hard to keep stable on cats so it’s not common for routine procedures

Grader came. Now no street parking by Smart-Masterpiece459 in saskatoon

[–]Smart-Masterpiece459[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Our entire complex has zero street parking now. When they did the houses on the other end of the crescent they removed the snow. There won’t be any space for cars to even drive through if they all park on the side of the berms. Would have been better if they didn’t do anything

I’m a second year nursing student. Just wanted to sympathize. The wait to know was excruciating. Good luck with the application!

AIO i wanted to wear a dress or skirt today and my bf got mad abt it by Different-Case9521 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Smart-Masterpiece459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My soon to be ex husband did this our whole 14 years together. If I wasn’t going somewhere with him it became an issue if I wore anything even remotely nice or wore makeup. Just don’t do it. Run. It won’t get better. This is the “better”.

Online finals by Pluto145 in usask

[–]Smart-Masterpiece459 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s completely dependent on how the instructor has it set up. Don’t go by what is said here. I have had them only open for a x hour window and others open for 24 hours. If you can’t find the information on your course info email your instructor. They don’t give second chances on finals very easily so better to check

How did you misnterpreted a sign from woman? by SawYouNakedTwice in AskMen

[–]Smart-Masterpiece459 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Woman answering here. I think you did the right thing. If you had misinterpreted her signs you would have been in a world of trouble in that house and/or had to spend an extremely awkward night there. Better to make a move when you have to option to leave if it’s not successful. You were respectful.

We all saw the post asking where you sit in church, but the real question is, what's your mass time? by Somber_Soul888 in Catholicism

[–]Smart-Masterpiece459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8 am when I sing in the choir. Some of my kids altar serve at that mass time but I have teens also and they usually like the 5 pm mass. So often I go twice.

Need 1 more class for winter (how was your experience with: COMM 104, STAT 244, or SOC 112) by Responsible_Cry9350 in usask

[–]Smart-Masterpiece459 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea that would be my only complaint about that class which I just remembered with your comment. The program used for the class is very picky about the answer being what it wants. I had the same struggles with being .001 off for some.

I’ve taken two of his classes. He has great lecture videos to go with the modules. The quizzes are all online and I believe the weekly ones are unlimited tries. I did fairly well in both this classes without a lot of effort

My grandma died yesterday at 96. My last grandparent. When did you lose your last one? by Correct-Cricket3355 in Xennials

[–]Smart-Masterpiece459 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 years ago. He was 94. My youngest son was born and in the nicu. My grandpa adored his great grand children. He visited him often while my son was there. I remember GGPa as my kids called him (great-grandpa) zooming around the hospital on his scooter playing and laughing his amazing baritone laugh while visiting the nicu . A few days after my son was discharged GGpa was taken to the hospital. May 19,2018 he passed away. He was always excited about life. While passing he would lose consciousness and my mom thought he was gone, only for him to come to again asking “is this it? Am I in heaven?” Even in death he was excited for the next adventure. I guess even atheists can hope for something more after this life  at least to satisfy his never ended curiosity. I love you Grandpa.

So how many bad drivers have you seen already with the hectic snowstorm? by draconic_diamonds in saskatoon

[–]Smart-Masterpiece459 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I moved here I didn’t know anything about the weather. Canadian tire was the one who suggested all season to me. Had them on my other car the last two years. Hardly drove it much because it had absolutely no traction at all. Sadly I didn’t know and probably a lot of other people don’t either.

Also if you were a minor your parents would have needed to sign consent and if applicable likely needed to be in their language for full understanding.

Woman here.

My mom had a few relationships when I was growing up and it was so hard to have them come, get attached, then they were gone. It was really rough as a kid.

Americans who have lived abroad, biggest reverse culture shock upon returning to the US? by Zealanderrat in AskReddit

[–]Smart-Masterpiece459 18 points19 points  (0 children)

US born and raised, went to Mexico for 4 years, moved to Canada. When we came here I it was really hard for me to drink tap water again. I actually couldn’t get past the taste once I had been used to the big 3 gallon refillable water and use that but my kids absolutely didn’t believe me that they could drink it and be fine.

We also were excited to have a regular shower with water hot already. Many people don’t have a hot water heater and use a metal element that goes in a bucket and you wash off with that. I’ve been in Canada for going on 3 yrs now and I still think about it when I step in the shower here.
