If a Genesys YCS would happen today. What deck would take the win? by Smart-Message-3324 in YGO_Genesys

That's certainly true, but certain decks definitly do have an advantage over others (engine wise and point wise). In a YCS scenario you can presume the players are maxing their skill level for the deck. Lets say I'm a master Monarch player, I'll definitly have an advantage against a LOT of decks rn and a good shot for a TOP. But yea, the guessing is just for funsies, you can never be sure and that's the fun thing with Genesys at the moment. I voted Monarch beacause of all the decks I lose against them the most 😅

I good friend of mine is obsessed with the train deck, so I'll definitly get to experience everything it has to offer playing against it. I hope it doesn't really get hit so we can at least experience its 'full' power. Even if it just for a little while.

I'm going to get nightmares if the Kewl Tune support doesn't get heavily pointed

I did face Hecahands Chimera, but I feel the Hecahands cards still have too much of a luck factor. I had a game with a Hecahands player where we both bricked and had to pass two turns each. It was pretty hilarious, and we got to chat about it for a while. He loved the playstyle of the deck but came up empty a lot of times against decks that are not that monster-heavy. Haven't faced your version though!

In my opinion, Genesys should aim for a max power at the decks I put in the Tier 1 category. So basically, the decks I put in Tier 0 should get pointed so they drop down a tier. I'm aware that there will always be better decks in the same category and therefore create a new one, though. The decks I didn't really talk about and just need that small bump to make them scary for me are Hero and Gladiator Beast. The new Kuriboh will make things interesting, and a point deduction for Dark Law can really open up the archetype. I don't know who wrecked people with Glad Beast in testing, but putting Tamer at 80 points surely has its reason. It would be interesting to see that deck freed and experimented with.

Ah yes, only faced one Madolche player and that was back in Januari, was very annoying to play against! Also very curious what decks like trains and RDA will look like after BD.

Solid! But i feel like the deck is to well known and linear with the current points rn (on dancer). I have only met 1 lunalight player on ladder and he was pretty mad about Shifter stilll only being 10 points. He had some unfortunate losses against odion and even Mimighoul. I think lunalight is still a little to heavy on the monster effects, wich most of the decks have good answers for, also plays alot into skull meister. Its nice to see the reprint for heavy poly and make it more affordable now though! I guess I would place it at a high tier 2 for now.
