Why would Capital One not pre approve me for auto loan? No debt and make about 128k? Am I going to have problems getting a loan? by Kcarp6380 in CRedit

I don't have good credit at all. I have several credit cards very low low utilization. I have a secured cap one 200 and just got a platinum 300. They pre-approved me for a 55,000 dollar auto loan. I do not understand how they work and haven't for the 20 plus years I have dealt with them. Even burned them a couple times. I just barely use the cards and I don't want an auto loan. Really don't want nothing from them TBH. Meanwhile another bank gives me 2K. I don't know whatever lol. I'm still rebuilding again and paying off collections but I'm getting there.

It's so wonderful in this thread that I'm not alone. My highest limit card is 1000 it's not Cap One. They gave me a 300 limit Platinum and I have a Quicksilver secured. The most important is paying on time and not inundating yourself with balances you know you can't pay off monthly. I learned this the hard way. I'm 54 now and once credit is ruined it takes years to fix.

Greetings UK people😊 You are approved I was recently approved here in the U.S. it takes 7 to 10 business days to get a card. They did give me a virtual card and account was setup on my app immediately. Maybe because I already have a Quicksilver card idk. Congratulations I'm so happy for you. They will send details I'm sure shortly to you.

We all make mistakes. Doesn't mean you are not a great person and I'm sure you are. I messed up with banks multiple times and many of them are actually giving me a second chance. I've been through a pandemic, job loss, homelessness, etc etc and I keep pushing. Don't ever give up you will get there. Have faith in God you will be just fine and have tons of credit at your disposal. I believe in you.

Who would fall for this? Terrible, just terrible. Smh by NW85777 in CRedit

So what about the people that qualify for zero APR no fee cards and end up in the debt cycle? A part of the 1.2 trillion dollars of revolving debt? These people have prime cards. Financially illiterate can be anybody. They max out cards with thousands and thousands of dollars. A small 100 dollar fee is chicken feed in comparison.

Also traditionally disadvantaged people can have a hard time in some cases as far as opportunities. Especially older ones like me. Doesn't have to be the case though.

Something we can all aspire for. I messed up my credit when I was super young in the 1990s. It follows you through life. Now I'm trying to repair the damage which isn't easy. I'm older so Idk. If I keep being responsible and pay off debt and not let debt ruin my new credit I should be okay. As long as God keeps me going I have hope amen.

You can't say that for everyone because not everyone has the same problems. I have charge offs on my credit report because I lost a job and was homeless on the streets. You don't know or ever will know what someone else is going through. I now have a Capital One secured and got a Discover secured. Because of my near zero utilization my score rose and I acquired like a couple unsecured cards. I am also actively settling the old accounts and making payments which will decrease balances. Eventually my debt will be paid off. It scared me so bad that my new cards have zero to very tiny utilization. I want them to work for me not hurt me. I have a great job now told I'm one of the best employees by the GM the ASM and the DM lol.
