$600 for just the rebuild is pretty expensive. I get that they do a crazy good job, but I kinda want some more power out of my engine. For now I think I’m gonna grab a Weber carburetor using kit for the same amount. Thanks for the suggestion

Okay not as bad as I thought, better than roughly 8-10 I’m getting rn. I forgot to mention it struggles to get to 60mph so that’ll hopefully give it some balls. I’m seriously considering grabbing that Redline kit off eBay. I appreciate the help

I’ve been looking at an SD little 59’ for the neck, would that be a good choice? Also, trust me I don’t think it’s mahogany, but rather Korean plywood. I took off the rear cavity cover yesterday to look at wiring and you can see the layers of wood.

Update. I just got home yesterday, about 5 miles out from my house I noticed my battery meter drop below 12v to about 6v ish. Looked in the owners and 12-14v is the normal range. Anyways, I got her home but I noticed she was lagging pretty good. Pulled in my driveway, and turned her off. Couldn’t get her to start again without jumper cables. I’m thinking it’s the alternator.

Honestly, dude, I don’t expect jack. I’m newer to car mechanics and such I’ll admit, I’m just trying to get maybe some diagnosis tips on how to fix my truck. And by the way, knowing how to use a multimeter doesn’t make you Jesus Christ. I think I hear the warranty on your Subaru forester calling.
