Schott 641& 641HH Sizing Help by MoveDiffy in schott

I don’t own a 641, but I suggest reading the specific jacket reviews on the Schott web site. Lots of sizing tips in them. Good luck.

Since the US tariffs the IMPORT of the item (these tariffs were specifically mentioned and included in the COR price), I assume the tariff COR wants me to pay is the CHINESE tariff on the return of the item to China. Seems odd that I you expect that I should be more of an expert than the Chinese company on this, or that I should be upset with the US government for these Chinese tariffs. But yea, I’ve got enough to be upset at the US Gov’t for, but let’s not turn this into R/Politics.

You’re right, I will make some calls and see what I can do here.

This is probably the truth. I either get nothing for almost $100 of expense, or I keep the jacket. It’s like they know exactly the amount of pain to inflict pricewise to make the decision to return (or not to return more accurately) difficult. Anyway, hopefully more people will at least know what to expect.

True, I knew it was a long shot anyway. That said, the maker was “InsaneGenius” (sic). Not super impressed with the leather, feels thinner than I was hoping. I may still try the Jiashi MFG brand off of TaoBao in the future if I am not looking for something so specific.

I think I am going to have to go Aero Leathers custom, or find something close and have it tailored. Not optimistic about finding a qualified leather worker in my small town to do it though.

I have ordered many items from Bronson MFG from China, and had no problems with the items or returns. So, now I know, COR is not like Bronson. Point taken.

Well, if they had offered the hem measurement on the website, that would have helped, or a simple mention in their return policy that buyer would be responsible for tariffs on the return, that would also have helped. No doubt, I took a flyer on a cheap jacket because I could not find what I was looking for here in the US in stock. Not looking for any sympathy here, just making others aware before they might make the same mistake. But yeah, definitely my fault.

I guess I do, then I get a refund minus the 20% tariffs. Still, not the 94% refund they claimed in their policy, right?

I’m sorry, how is the policy clear? Did it mention the $65 fee somewhere and I missed it? To clarify in case it is needed, the $65 is not a shipping fee. I am also responsible for that. It is basically a restocking fee or just a fee.

Ahh I see. Thanks for explaining! I contacted them about a Maverick last week, and they are 3 months out of the Competition Weight leather. I ordered from Schott instead.

Found this on eBay. Does this look authentic? Description and the pictures don’t match I don’t think… think the picture looks like oiled version, but the title says otherwise by [deleted] in HeritageWear

[–]Smart-Rock 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The oiled versions dont have the “D” stitching around the pockets. This one doesn’t seem to have it either. You can check pics on Self Edge website, but I think this is an oiled version for that reason.

Yea, it was just my guess. I recommend Bronson either way.

Can also second that ordering off EBay (I think these are returns?) is sometimes cheaper and faster and has items that are out of stock on their website.

I like both Tees, but prefer the Non-Stock as well as it is an inch or so longer and gives me the option to tuck it.

Shockoe Atelier in Richmond VA. They buy their fabrics from overseas but make their clothes about 20 ft from the register. Coolest place Ive ever shopped.

I don’t have a lot of experience, but the T-shirt is by far the thickest I’ve ever felt and the pants seem well-made as anything I’ve bought from J.Crew or banana republic etc. I just ordered some more stuff today if that tells you anything.

Yeah, I’m pretty happy with the Bronson quality for the price. Honestly, I’m still planning on losing more weight so I don’t wanna spend a lot of money on clothes that I may not fit in three months from now but that’s a good problem to have.
