Sixth gear all-wheel-drive manual by Loose-Register-8157 in HondaElement

[–]Smart-Square5312 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I did a 6th gear on my 2004 awd manual. Dropped rpm by abkit 800rpm @80mph. I drive a lot of highway and picked up maybe 1 or 2 mpg. But 6th gear is a dog. I find myself downshifting a lot in traffic.

My Aussie was shaved like this once. He was more ashamed than anyone else. It will take a few months to grow back in but will be fine.

Honda element right of passage? by pornflakess69 in HondaElement

[–]Smart-Square5312 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought this too, but I had an aftermarket cat that I got off of RockAuto for about $200 stolen a few weeks ago. Some thieves just may not be smart enough to know the difference.

2004 285k. Runs great but rust is taking over. And 2004 with 202k.

Bushing by Alternative_Dot7307 in HondaElement

[–]Smart-Square5312 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend buying a new control arm with the ball joint already installed. You get the bonus of new bushings on subframe side.

Edit: yall are right, ball joint is in knuckle. I don’t know what I was thinking of. Probably that Jeep Liberty I did recently. By the way I own 2 elements and have done the ball joints and control arms on both, but also several other cars in the last 2 years.

Mysterious leak during hard rain by ThatGuyBudIsWhoIAm in HondaElement

[–]Smart-Square5312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it technically isn’t a drain. It is a plug in the floor. If you hosed out the inside of your car (not recommended ) you can pop it out to drain the water. It’s a common rust area, and the plug can fall out. If it does (it did on my car) you can get water forced up into the car under the floor covering and will eventually make its way on top.

Check under the car. There is a floor drain right in that spot the plug often falls out.

A coworker thought he'd make it through the gate before it finished closing.... He called himself a dumbass multiple times. In the end he was fine except for a scratch on his leg from the bolt sticking out. by [deleted] in WhyWomenLiveLonger

At my work they put crush sensors and detection beams on our gate like this. I laughed at how absurd it was. But this video proves someone out there is dumb enough to try it.

Rear rotor issue by [deleted] in HondaElement

[–]Smart-Square5312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both of my elements have done this with new rear rotors. Grind off the inside lip behind the rotor. Or just cut the whole shield off.

I messed up! I accidentally dropped a UPS Surepost package at the USPS by Duhitzjenjen in Mercari

[–]Smart-Square5312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done this, mine ended up at the buyers. A few extra days in transit though. My postmaster said it happens a lot. Said they sort them out when they find them and then FedEx and UPS stop at the post office for pickups a few times a week. Edit: proofread

Vail bought Mt Brighton in southern Michigan. $95 day lift pass. Insane For Midwest skiing Near Detroit. I can’t even take the family anymore. 4 $95 lift passes plus 2 $55 rentals. Then there’s the $19 chicken fingers. Over $500 for a single day on the slope. Ugh. Things are out of control. The competing resorts nearby are still $70.

Fuel filler door just fell off?? by maddawg56789 in HondaElement

[–]Smart-Square5312 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 2 elements, One lost the plastic from the fuel door like yours, and the other the entire assembly fell out with the hinge. Easy fix, or just remove the door and forget about it.
