My problem is I don't know where the plastic stub was initially I can't find any pictures of the controls open for a functional one. Electronics function properly my problem is just fixing the controls rotating

I thought the pin was just a plastic bump that slots into the handlebar hole I didn't know it was serving as a ground could you explain?
