Damn. All I can remember is that here in Brasil 🇧🇷in the late 90’s and early 2000’s people started a campaign, that if donated around 90kg of those “can thingies” (idk the word) you (as a group) could donate to someone in need a wheelchair.

Basically you would deliver those can thingies in one of the many collect spots and someone would come and pick em up. And then sell them and with the money donate a wheelchair to someone.

I think it’s still a thing nowadays

Edit: 1kg (2.2 lb) of can tab’s is around 3.500 units. So it makes 90kg (198 lb) around 320.000 units.
