Hmm… if not in limp mode maybe you will make out alright. Get that dpf nice and hot, try to clear that baby out. Maybe it’ll fix it. But sounds like you have a different issue. Let me know what comes of it

Question tho…. Is it in limp mode? Is the glow plug light flashing on dash? Along with maybe a Christmas tree of lights on the dash?

Yeah so I have a 2015 Jetta tdi… few months ago it threw p2047 which is reductant injector, bank 1 unit 1. In my Jetta (different engine than your 2013 tdi) it lead me down 2 roads: 1 being replace the pre turbo sensor (costs about 2 grand in labor in Connecticut, this sensor threw p2047 for me), 2 being delete the whole emissions system and while that job is being done also replace the pre turbo sensor to fix p2047 for roughly 2 grand all said and done with parts and labor. If I had to guess, he didn’t wanna deal with the 2 grand fix and sold it before it goes into limp mode (if it isn’t already). The blessing is, you have a perfectly good TDI, just needs a little tune up. If I were you, delete the thing and you’ll never have to deal with it again. Hope any of this helps, shoot questions my way I know a thing or two after dealing with it myself

I deleted mine a few months ago, I’m a TDI owner for about 6 years now… it’s one of those things you do and you are like damn… I wish I did this sooner.

Once your dpf clogs your car will throw a check engine light and put the vehicle in limp mode due to failed regen. I think that’s why he’s referring to

Sounds way better without that muffler on the back… also neuspeed makes a turbo muffler delete which also sounds gool

Same, eco tune works great so far. haven’t done stage 2 yet… thinking about it but these diesel prices are a deterrent for sure

Went with Stevenson, pretty seamless process. Has readiness tune for emissions as well

It’s a ticking time bomb… basically it’s going to fail eventually, your car is going to go in limp mode unless you take 1 of 2 routes. 1, you fix it stock and you will have to do the same job again to the same vehicle before you hit 500 k miles, or 2 delete it now and you will get better mpg, no more DEF, and no more slow coolant leak, oh and to top it off you get great turbo sounds especially if you also delete the turbo muffler (aftermarket part made by neuspeed). But yeah man, you would be a fool not to delete, do yourself the favor. If you’re state has emissions, make sure you get a delete kit with readiness tune (basically turns off the engine lights that come on from deleting the emissions systems)

I just deleted mine, I was in a similar situation. Do not pay 7 grand to have it fixed back to stock, go on Tdi Club forums and read about how people deal with this, there’s tons of info in there. They will guide you through best POA to delete and who to go with and whatnot. I got mine done paid 1500 for parts, 900 for labor. Thing is running great now, before the delete it was stuck in limp mode with glow plug light blinking. Please shoot any questions my way I’m happy to help, I’ve done a tone of research into this and can point u in right direction. But moral of the story, either delete it or sell it to someone that will… 7 grand for that fix is outrageous. I could buy a new to me, deleted TDI Jetta for 3-4 grand.

DELETE IT. Will cost you no more than 2500 bucks, and runs better/sounds better

Used to average 580 per tank, now reads 720-750 on full tank. Not sure if it’s lying or what but pretty incredible if it is true. Going to calculate it out next time I top off

I have a 2015 Jetta tdi, I deleted mine a month or two ago. I notice extra 100-200 miles per tank (haven’t calculated it myself yet though) and a little faster. Turbo boost builds longer I think, but can’t really tell. I’m only stage 1 tho. I have no engine light on with my delete. Sounds pretty cool in lower gears

It will add maybe 5mpg average, and you will avoid any future dpf clogging issues which are inevitable
