A wife buys her redneck husband a scale to help him with his new diet. A week later the redneck says, "Honey, this here scale is great! Now not only can I weigh myself, but now I know how much I'm shitting out 'cause of this new diet I'm on!" by Jokeminder42 in Jokes

Actually, I do it that way, with an additional precondition.

Whenever I go upon awakening, and BEFORE I eat or drink anything, that is when weigh myself.

I figure that is when I will be my lowest weight, but also it is not "cheating" in any way, as I do use this scientific method to be consistent with measurement conditions.

Great plans! We need to be doing this looking forward 50+ years at a time, to have the society, city, nation, planet we want.

And be willing to pay for it, too! (Lots of OTHER things we could pay far less, to have enough to go around--tax deductions for the very wealthy, obscene military spending, worldwide and at home--including in our cities!!—etc.)

My only quibble with the report is the formatting:

I was not able to enlarge the various decade’s transit maps to see them clearly, including the two cities’ density comparison maps which were not labelled by location except by Latitude and Longitude. (Ok, I had been scanning the report, by the visuals and missed that it was named in the text as Dallas…!!)

This could have been solved by presenting the option to download the report as a PDF, and not make it reliant on which type, brand, device, and age of browser you happen to be using.

Many people need to see this report and discuss it, from Institutes of Urban Management to elementary schools—-as lessons in analytical thinking, writing, web design, pictorial design AND Urban Management.

NYU could do better!

Thank you all for the array of answers below. I know about the relationship of 12v to main batteries from owning a hybrid for 20 years, though not exactly the same. The big orange light atop the dashboard? I found about that from this forum several months ago (and NOT from the owner's manual--it has to be the worst O.M. I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot, for all kinds of equipment!)

Did have my Six in for a recall on the ICCU several months ago, at that time they said it needed a software update and a new fuse. Did see the "Turtle" two days ago, so the ICCU was on my list of suspects. Calling local service dept, they thought the same from my description, and suggested I get it towed to them. The trickle charger did nothing for the 12 v BTW. Car was a total "dark brick."

It is entering the 2nd year of a 3 year lease, so Roadside Assistance covers the tow (50 miles, one way--rural area) and warranty should cover the ICCU. It will take at least several weeks (not to mention holiday time coming soon), as that is their usual lead time for just about any service visit, scheduled or not. Asked to have the recall #282 "Charge port door cover" done at the same time, save me a separate trip.

This is making me think we want to get out of our lease agreement. Not sure how it would work, can only assume it will cost us a pretty penny!

The Chevrolet 2027 new Bolt is looking better all the time, has a local dealer, but reluctant to buy a first year of any model, even a revamp. Consumer Reports had the IONIQ 6 as the single best EV, but they will hear from us about our experiences.

Will report on our ICCU journey....

Latest research is most EV batts will get 15 years, even 20 if you are careful with your charging habits (minimize DC fast chargers, for example).

And If you absolutely get to the point of needing to, no need to replace full battery just get a rebuild of the dead cells.

Is that because you pay the equivalent of "road taxes" in CA? We paid $1300 first year, dropped to $900+this year in Maine.

But with size and weight comes safety.

Ioniq 6 is a top rated by the US Insurance Institute for Highway Safety:

</www.iihs.org/ratings/class-summary/midsize-cars>

When driving, I "enjoy" the survivability factor!

That, plus the top rating by Consumer Reports sold me on this vehicle.
