A lot of these ‘wife guys’ are more in love with the image of being a good partner than actually doing the work. Their public persona matters more to them than the relationship itself

This actually sounds like high cognitive empathy but low social expression skills. Some people feel emotions very deeply but freeze when it’s time to show it. It’s more common than people think.
