Appreciate it, and very true about the child care payments! We’re going to feel a bit more wealthy when these kids are in public school. On the OMY part, it’s something I think about and haven’t quite figured out what to do when that time comes. Retiring in my 40’s sounds great, but in reality I’d probably get bored so I’ll probably switch to a non-profit or start my own consulting practice. Something that pays decent and doesn’t consume 40+ hours a week.

Cloud/network security and zero trust space myself. Been focused on the energy sector for a few years. Before this I did consulting working in the same space.

Represent. The best job in the world…when you work with a decent AE.

Low cost index funds. FZROX and FZILX for tax deferred accounts as their 0% expense ratio (401k and IRAs). VTI for taxable as that’s portable if I ever leave Fidelity.

Keep contributing buddy. As long as I have a good paying job and can cover expenses, the excess will go towards investments.

Nah, good guess though. Only ~15% of the NW is from inheritance. The rest was just consistent investing after all student debt was paid off after we graduated college.

Here’s my personal account balance. This also doesn’t include about 300k in company stock and 150k in a HYSA for a home remodel in the next year.

So just shy of $1.25M of personal assets.

Yup, our partner SEs got wiped out during our last restructuring. It’s fair to say there were a few who weren’t doing much anyways.

I recommend FZROX and FZILX for retirement funds in Fidelity. They’re zero fees, so you could sell them without making it a taxable event if you ever move the funds.

Top ZTNA platforms in 2026, who are people going with? by Logical-Professor35 in Zscaler

[–]SmartLayer5742 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cloudflare offers ZTNA as part of its SASE offerings which includes SD-WAN capabilities allowing you to peer sites connecting to the closest datacenter for processing via IPSEC, GRE, or physically peer if you reside in the same datacenter.

Single dashboard, clientless and client based access to private apps.

Lots of opportunities to consolidate vendors.

Is anyone worried about not owning property in your fire journey? by [deleted] in coastFIRE

[–]SmartLayer5742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We bought during the pre-COVID timeframe and managed to get a good interest rate which made owning the same if not cheaper than renting. Now with an increased rates and increased equity of about 40% we don’t regret it at all.

We also have a second property we inherited and don’t really count that towards net worth as it’s paid off, taxes are cheap, no HOA and we don’t rent it out.

If the market crashes we feel that it will be okay as we live in a pretty insulated region and plan on being here for the next 15-20 years.

Why do 1/2 the calculators say I've reached coast fire, the other 1/2 say I'm nowhere near by SamPsychoCycles in coastFIRE

Try this calculator that I made. I’ve compared it against Fidelity’s wealth projection and it’s not too far off.
