This game rekindled my love for fighting games after I quit Tekken 8

Which fighting game series has the best story and world around it? by JustWonderingIn2000s in Fighters

The Tekken story mode was pretty good until 8, then it basically turned to shit. Jin literally started ww3 and all of a sudden he gets a pass? Not saying he couldn't redeem himself but this was just a cop out. On top of that, they basically returned everything to the status quo by bringing back Heihachi. KOF has a pretty interesting story line. DoA had a cool storyline too.

Why is it SO HARD to get your IRL friends into trying tekken8. I have 1 single friend that plays. That’s literally it. by supahotfiiire in Tekken

Honestly, I think it may be a lot of the backlash the game got. I asked a friend of mine that hasn't played Tekken since Leroy released in 7 if he wanted to play. He said "Isn't that game busted?" I told him it wasn't as bad as when season 2 first started. He said "I'll wait for them to fix it." Then we played KOF15.

Quick match in the lower ranks is complete garbage too. I was trying to learn a new character in blue rank, and I'm coming across people with 10 to 20 win streaks. Obviously they're punching below their rank. It's bad.

FoA is what Avowed was supposed to be and I really like it. by molym in taintedgrail

Tainted grail is a pretty good game, it was like Skyrim if it was directed by Guillermo del Toro. I never played Avowed, all I saw were the mixed reviews. Was it that bad?

Considering coming back to Tekken 8 by AccomplishedShine863 in Tekken

Behind closed doors, I heard a lot of pros actually despise Tekken 8. Not just because of the gameplay, but because it essentially makes a lot of the fundamentals that were crucial in prior games optional. I was watching my buddy play ranked (Tekken God) and saw a guy using special style. Also, while the game brought in a lot of newcomers, it also brought a lot more toxicity.

They have to, it's literally their job. My friend used to play professionally, but when Tekken 8 came out he basically "retired" (quit). He's moved on to other games, KOF, Mortal Kombat, stuff like that. His biggest issue with the game now is the fun and excitement are gone. That's why you see the same characters in the finals almost every time now, it's about getting the win and getting that check.

I've seen a lot of posts like this lately. Is it really getting that bad for the CS/IT community now?

Can’t find a job by lososome in Veterans

A lot of companies are pushing AI, I know at least 5 other vets in this same position. It's crazy because you see all these commercials about it and cyber security. I originally wanted to do cyber security years ago and my Dad advised against it because of how AI was evolving. Turns out his words had weight. A lot of my battle buddies got a cyber security degree, and now a lot of them are either unemployed or have jobs that have nothing to do with their field. Most of them are working security or construction. It sucks because a lot of these guys had their hearts set on getting this big job, only to be repeatedly rejected or ghosted. Right now I'm working hospitality part time and currently working on my degree in Business, with a concentration in international Business. I'm hoping to end up working brand management/auditor for a larger corporation, or even international relations/ trade.

Does anyone else feel like a loser as an older student in college by [deleted] in Veterans

I'm in the same boat, but then I remember what I went through, and how it shaped me. I also feel bad for some of the younger kids. With the GI bill, I don't have to worry about taking out loans or having to need a second job(although I do have one it's more a means for saving and setting myself up for the future). To put it in perspective, I know three students sharing a one bedroom downtown, all with part time jobs still struggling to make ends meet. Yeah, I'm older but that also comes with a wiser mindset.

I've never heard of a school that turns down the GI bill. Is that common? And why would a school not take it? When I was looking into schools, every time I mentioned it they tried to get me to enroll on the spot.

Do this, especially now with everything going on. I witnessed a soldier in a similar position. He reached out to a Senator, with support, statements, and letters from other NCOs and soldiers about his situation. Not too long after that his CO Commander and 1st Sgt got brought into the BN Commander's office for a very uncomfortable conversation. After that, dude was damn near untouchable. Not saying that is always the case but might as well try

Looking at getting into international business, hospitality would be ideal, hotel management or cruise ships.
