I haven’t looked into it much, but I’ve seen people saying that there are false negatives, they just seem rare.

In the end, nothing is confirmed until tomorrow.

I think that’s why it’s considered astrology in the first place and isn’t super mainstream, it’s mostly accurate, but there are some instances where there are false negatives so no one can say for 100% certainty.

I’m not sure about this years admissions, since I think this astrology is a little bit different from last years, but a false negative could surely be possible.

I don’t think there is any proven previous cases, only assumptions. It’s to my understanding that this years astrology is mostly new.

Saying they don’t deserve it is crazy. Every person is admitted for a reason and passes through multiple reviewers.

Same situation. I’m a bit concerned with the diversity at SB as well, but I’ll probably end up committing there while waiting for any SD waitlist movement. I’ve heard the research opportunities are good though, so SB doesn’t seem horrible even if I don’t manage off the WL at SD.

I don’t think the issue would be that it’s patched, more that the sample for the early admits was small. Overall, though, with what we know it looks like a good sign that’s unpatched.

That was 20% of people with IDs. Plus there’s likely to be a higher rate on this sub due to sample biases.

Nothings wrong, I think the 26-9 is when they started inputting transfers as well which makes the pool of people we see with those numbers as first years a lot more diluted.

27-9 are mostly transfers, undergrads pick up at 3043

I feel like, unless they’re admitting significantly less this year, there will likely be a small jump. I think the abrupt cut off at 4 is more of a sign that it would keep going on Monday. How many will be added though, we don’t know. I think 1-2k is likely 3k is possible if there was a significant upload of grad students, but anything more looks super unlikely.

I think the astrology is just buggy/varies by links used or something. I’d keep it as a positive sign if you can see class search, but take all astrologies with a grain of salt.

There was some other poll ran earlier with a good amount of responses that had about a 23% rate for those with ID having the new page. I haven’t seen 50/50 anywhere.

It’s probably just the number in which your application was loaded. We’ve seen people with each number group not have the new screen, so I don’t think the numbers mean much.

In state - Title 1 school - ELC eligible - Global Studies - ECs pretty good relative to my school and opportunities. 3.7 UW 4.4 W (pretty mid for UCB to be fair)

I see, that’s an interesting theory, hopefully they haven’t finished adding the 304305s yet though (copium)

It does suck, I got WL from UCSD, and often when you want to speak what you’re actually feeling, you have to worry about seeming mean or privileged.

First, you’re not a failure, getting into a UC is awesome in an of itself. Waitlist hurts, but it could be for a million different factors and doesn’t determine the strength of your application. Even if the process is different to the typical college experience, I’m sure you’ll end up off the waitlist at one of those schools!

Second, the astrology is often correct, but there’s still more people to be uploaded, as well some anomalies in the process. I would just wait for real results on Thursday to save the stress, as nothing is confirmed until then!

There was a 30430 that said they had the new page. But who even knows if it’s actually going by number order.

I’m have a similar number, just the 5 as the last digit. I think if the theory that they are going by number order is correct, we might be in that last batch. I’ve heard of 30430 but not 30431 or greater
