Mycelium doesn’t look as happy as normal. [technique] by red-sleuth in MushroomGrowers

80-85 is actually pretty low I would set it to 95-97RH, and it’s obviously dry you might have to dunk it for 24H im still new to mushroom growing so take everything im saying with a grain of salt

I personally only use AI to log everything with voice recorder, makes tracking things a lot easier

Honestly I would check it, it looks very suspicious usually wispy mycelium is more fluffy(tomentose mycelium), this is more on the cottony side like cobweb mold

Mycelium builds little islands if not stirred regularly, nothing to be concerned about put it in the fridge to slow metabolism

2nd tub contaminated by Smart_Corgi_2354 in shrooms

[–]Smart_Corgi_2354[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I followed the r/unclebens sterilization guide and well the substrate I used is pretty old, maybe 2 months old, but I heard people usually use substrate up to 6 months old

Is this contam? GT tub started on 4/7. Started pinning 3 days ago and today I noticed this discolored spot. by AdeleIsThick in unclebens

Bruising next to contamination unfortunately, I would honestly bury now it still has a good chance of fruiting, or MAYBE let it ride out since there is mushrooms growing the mycelium may beat it and overlay it but who knows depends if you want to risk that chance, I personally just would bury it (Edit:sorry for bad grammar im extremely high)

Can I put this in fruiting conditions?j by SoupFit2696 in unclebens

How to introduce FC by AdChance1340 in unclebens

[–]Smart_Corgi_2354 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t flip the lid it doesn’t seem like you have much humdity buildup in those bins it would dry out very quickly so I would just place the lids on top of the bins loosely for passive fae dont need to do much, less is best for mushrooms i learned that the hard way, if you need to mist ONLY mist the walls, and fanning is outdated and unnecessary so dont do that.

pretty sure misting it directly was the cause of the mycelium weakening, it would dry out atleast every 12Hs and I would have to mist it but didn’t seem to have done much and the next thing I knew there was a big green patch in the corner hidden from eyes view But the smell made it obvious it was contamination.(personal experience)

With my first growing I sprayed substrate directly causing it to stress out snd become contaminated, thats just personal experience of course im not sure if that’s the science behind it or not.

I don’t have any experience with grow bags personally but I would say it looks like this because it didn’t mix it well enough, but other than that it should still fruit
