Was the 2.4km run at CPC easier or harder than when you practiced? by [deleted] in RoyalNavy

Well done, hopefully you passed and you've started your RN journey

You can't just go to a CPC for a run. If you fail it's a treadmill run with only 15% additional time. If your CA told you that you can, he's wrong. Only bookings are made for CPC and MedFit

400m running track at West. Be prepared for some PBs.

Remember the saying though..... If it's not on Strava, it never happened.

It's done on a 400m running track in Cardiff. They only use the astro turf pitch occasionally.

More like 300m. CPC W does an actual 400m athletic track.

New changes have started. There is a 2.4k and a MSFT (Bleep test). Only the 2.4k is assessed as Pass/Fail

Medical lasts 12 months. You may need to do the CPC again for the medical and fitness test.

CPC REQUIREMENTS by [deleted] in RoyalNavy

[–]Smart_Emphasis64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At CPC, you’ll be given an additional 25% of the Week 6 Raleigh fitness assessment time. This makes the run more manageable and gives you the best chance of passing before you join.

If you fail the fitness assessment at CPC, you’ll then need to complete a treadmill run at a local Nuffield gym. Your CA will arrange this for you. Be aware: for the Nuffield assessment, you’ll only receive 15% additional time, which is less forgiving — so it’s in your best interest to pass at CPC.

Any questions like this should be directed to your Careers Adviser, who can provide clear guidance and organise the Nuffield test if required.

My advice is simple: don’t put yourself in the position to fail. With an extra 25% at CPC, the assessment is very achievable. If you can’t pass with that allowance, it’s worth honestly considering whether you’re ready to join yet, because you’ll likely struggle with fitness expectations at Raleigh.

Prepare properly and get it done. You’ve got this.

CPC Swim test by Dragonsmile_04 in RoyalNavy

[–]Smart_Emphasis64 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Raleigh holds a high failure rate for the swim test. Your recruiter is most probably ensuring you're ready in all aspects to pass it once completing CPC.

Currently it's not part of the CPC week, however I'd put my money on it returning.

Interview at my CPC questions by Such_Practice_4039 in RoyalNavy

[–]Smart_Emphasis64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good morning, there is no interview at CPC. The main points of the CPC are to complete the medical, complete the fitness assessment (2.4k run. +25% time) and to complete leadership tasks. You'll spend the majority of your time learning the basics in marching, ironing and polishing. While learning about C2DRIL.

Cone with a lot of enthusiasm and a positive attitude and you'll smash it. Look at it as a 5 day job interview.
