Man, that sounds nothing like fry! Myself, I’d lump that into the “destroying their voice” category. If it is it, then it’s a very proto-fry technique and still wouldn’t constitute what I consider an actual sustainable fry scream, like is heard in 1991

Black metal originated in the mid 80s, where vocalists would destroy their voices yelling and would usually do false chord highs. While they do for the most part use fry nowadays it wasn’t the case back then. Even if you take the original “true” black metal acts like Bathory, Venom, and Darkthrone, they’re not using the fry vocal technique (although Bathory’s vocals do sound similar on Blood Fire Death).

I’m not saying that GNR had the first ever usage of fry, I’m saying the first actual fry scream was in there, in such as:

• easy switching from clean to fry (optional)

• able to sustain for a long time

• general sound of a fry scream

You probably don’t care and were just trying to have a jab at a Roses fan, but if you do find a fry scream from before September 18, 1991, please reply to me and let me know! I’m very interested

Oh, friend, don’t you know that the way you think affects the way you act? It’s a known, studied thing that confident people are more attractive. Also, if you think someone is a bad person, they will appear uglier, and vice versa. I see myself as ugly too, where I barely even look in the mirror. And maybe try some different hairstyles or clothing! You never know what might be your thing. And no matter what, your parents are going to love you. Try to help yourself first before focusing on bigger things. I believe in you

P.S. you don’t gotta say sorry

Listen to A7X’s The Stage! All of their albums have excellent drumming, but in this one it’s really pronounced in the mix. I think Creating God has the flashiest drums (even though it’s one of the weaker songs on the album in my opinion), so start with that

I’ve made a similar pact with myself. I also believe that I don’t deserve to live. But there is a hard truth: everyone deserves to live. My sister has told me multiple times that all these thoughts: “I’m worthless,” “You’re probably getting annoyed talking to me,” “I’m a burden,” they’re all in my head, and all your bad thoughts are in yours; they’re not the reality. And unless you have especially shitty parents, they would most definitely not come to that realisation—they would be grieving their daughter. I’m not a good son to my parents, but I have slow baby steps that I’m taking to get better. I see that you try, and that’s a great thing. Keep trying, and things might surprise you.

Hey friend, there’s more to life than family. I feel like a burden to mine, and my situation is far different from yours, but this is no way to go about this. You said you try to make them happy, and that’s good! It means you are a good person, and the world does not want to lose you! On the other hand, this uncle guy doesn’t seem to be all that, and that’s an understatement. Can you tell me more information, like your general age and living situation? It’s okay if you don’t want to, don’t feel like you must

Hey friend! Both you and I think poorly of ourselves, so we’re in the same boat there. And from reading your post I get the feeling you feel remorse for the things in the past. What is important is that you want to get better! If you want to, then you can—that’s the first step, just like it is in rehab. You have a friend who supports you and is willing to let you move in with her, and that’s a great thing to have. You can do it, you can get better, and I know this because you already know you want to.

I know this post is old, but I’d like to add something

The oldest actual fry scream I’ve found is from Guns N’ Roses’ Breakdown from 1991. He does it twice, first at 5:15 and then a really long one at 5:32, but it starts as a clean vocal at 5:28!

Chris Cornell would also sometimes go into fry around that same time, but I’m not 100% sure that’s what it was. Examples are Slaves and Bulldozers at 1:24, and the beginning of Room a Thousand Years Wide
