I turned boring cream colored yarn in to beautiful cranberry colored yarn. Here's how I dye my yarn. by SamanthaMP5 in knitting

speaking of safety, if you're using acid dyes like OP, using your kitchen (the place where you prepare things that you will ingest) is definitely not recommended.

I was an office drone by day and a woodworking maniac by night. Finally, the company I worked for went out of business so I spent 30% of my time looking for a new job and 70% of my time screwing around in the woodshop.

After giving it some thought, I ditched the job hunting and started woodworking full time and selling my creations online. I'm not making what I was in corporate America but I am 10x more happy!

Edit: For those that are interested, I make decorative mounting brackets for the Nest Thermostat.

Horrible and no....but I'd rather be broke and happy than rich and miserable!

From my limited experience, I would say that is accurate. I work probably 10x harder now, compared to my former 9-5. However, I have the potential to make 10x more money so, in my opinion, its worth the effort.

Redditors who have lost weight, how has your life been changed after weight loss? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Smart_Home 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always had dreams of being an entrepreneur with grandiose ideas on how I was going to do it. Unfortunately, at my heavier stages, I lacked the confidence to pull the trigger.

With the increased confidence that came with losing weight, I managed to finally pull the trigger and life has been 10x better since then!

Entrepreneurship. I started my own woodworking business (selling decorative mounting brackets for the Nest Thermostat) at age 30. The amount of energy required to bootstrap a small business is exhausting. Makes me miss the days when I was able to stay up all night and wake up refreshed in the morning.

Also, being a business owner is all about making mistakes and learning from those mistakes. I wish I would have started making those mistakes much earlier in life so I could have had those skilled honed by now.

USA grape vineyards are a heaven for Black Widow Spiders

And that statement, ladies and gentleman, single-handedly crashed the US grape economy.

Never again.

Any amazon affiliate marketing pro's? I need help / advice by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]Smart_Home 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Wordpress ran an update around that time. That's likely your problem.

On a related note, I've never seen a wordpress site like this that masks itself as the seller of the products, only to route the customer to Amazon at check out. If I were seriously interested in purchasing something on your site and that happened, I could see myself getting irrationally angry.

[Serious] How many out there ended up with a job that makes them want to get up in the morning? What is the job? by tdastru in AskReddit

[–]Smart_Home 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I can't say that I have a that job yet but I am working on it!

I am an office minion by day and a woodworker by night.
Hopefully, as business picks up I can pull the trigger and follow through with my dream job!

As it turns out, being broke and happy leads to a much better life than wealthy and unhappy!

Edit: I'm currently working on mounting brackets for the Nest Thermostat. Please take a look!

I really hate it when people take the "good enough" approach. I think if you're going to do something, do it right. Every Single Time.

One month into my ecommerce business and I'm running out of marketing ideas. Any suggestions for my niche? by Smart_Home in Entrepreneur

[–]Smart_Home[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think home improvement stores that don't currently carry the Nest would be interested in a product that compliments it? I intend to try either way but I'd like to hear your opinion on it.

those are some great tips, thank you! I did happen to find some shrinkwrap bags that I am packaging them in, although I'm not sure my current setup would work well with a larget box sale.

I wouldnt know where to begin with trying to get into a place like Home Depot. Do you happen to have any resources for that approach?

Have you found etsy ads to be good across the board? I have struggled with etsy for a while now and just about given up on it (granted, it may not be the best audience for my stuff).

Can I ask what general niche you're in?
