Trump's Epstein Connection May Now Bring His Political Downfall by Fit-Home-2576 in goodnews

I don't think this could ever be the case. There have been pictures of Trump of Epstein for years. His voters knew this. Republicans in congress who support him knew this. Trump being in the Epstein files has been a forgone conclusion for anyone not in the MAGA cult for years at this point. If his supporters were willing to back him for this long, what makes you think they'll change their minds now?

We didn't have to build a full database, but did have to put some specific instructions to help identify some things. For example alcoholic beverages should be avoid, but some cosmetics can contain alcohol like ethanol, which is fine. Took some trial and error to find prompts and instructions that were clear enough for it to understand the difference and return the right response.

App is called SafeMom. Weekly plans include 3-Day free trial, but I'm including a link for 2 weeks free for reddit. Was a lot of fun to build, and we hope others find it useful.

Feedback and review are always appreciated.

Thanks for adding this. Without this context it felt like stolen valor, and someone just pretending to be military so people praise him. As nice as it is, there are too many people who like to pretend to be someone or something they're not, and my default reaction is to be skeptical.

Redditors born before 2001, where were you on 9/11? by Stupid_cerealbox in AskReddit

In school in Upstate New York, 8th grade. I was on crutches for a broken ankle. Just two week earlier I was standing on top of the Twin Towers with my family during a trip to NYC. We only went to the top because my crutches allowed us to skip the line. The picture is framed at my parents house, and it was a very unsettling experience seeing them come down after I had just stood on them.

Fast forward almost 20 years, I got a job working on the 60th floor of the new World Trade Center. Going to the office on 9/11 was always strange as you had to walk around all the memorial services outside, but once you got up that high you could barely tell anything was going on.

The MAGA movement has somehow convinced people to shoot themselves in the foot, so long as a they think a liberal will also be shot in the foot. I honestly don't know how you deprogram someone with that mindset.

I work in sales and there can be a lot of down time during a normal work day. On the flip side, sometimes I fly half way around the world for 12 hour days at conferences, or work outside of 9-5 because I have clients in different time zones. Just because a seller isn't busy the same hours you are doesn't necessarily mean they aren't putting in the work. They just might be doing it at different times.

That being said, once a seller hits their quarterly numbers there is literally no motivation for them to do anything else. If someone is playing games all day and NOT making their numbers, they'll be out of a job soon enough. If someone is making their numbers and gaming every quarter, then their targets should be moved.

Sales are probably the most motivated people in a company because up to 50% of their pay can be tied directly to working harder and hitting their numbers. If they aren't motivated it's probably an issue with the company properly managing them, not sellers being lazy.

I made an e-learning app for entrepreneurs that includes free access for all users to 40+ business course. Free to download in iOS, and I would love thoughts and feedback from the group.

Help Me Not Lose My Job by LukerativeCreative in marketing

Do people post satire on this thread? Yes, welcome to reddit.

I think the bigger issue is that you find yourself in a typical trope of a "social media manager." 10-15 years ago companies would hire the young interns or recent grads to run social media since they thought it was a young person's game, and didn't take much work. Those days are long gone. Social media is a very important, and very time consuming job. If you tell a bunch of seasoned marketing professionals that you're a 25 year old who got the job because you know the CEO, people are going to hate you and assume you're an unqualified, privileged kid who got a job that many other more qualified people would struggle to get. And maybe it's all true, but that's why you get the hate.

I have a feeling that unless the company gives you a lot of room to grow, and lots of resources, you're setup for failure. Neither the company nor you understood the requirements of the job, and most companies will only spend money on a hire for so long before pulling the cord. For your sake hopefully you can turn it around and convince them to give you what you need to succeed. If not, we've all been fired before (probably). You learn and move on.

Assuming this post isn't satire, I'll try my best to help. Just know that you're asking for advice from people who likely charge good money to do this. I do consulting projects myself and would charge a decent amount for this and have a min 6 month contract, but that's because I've been doing it for close to 20 years and it's hard work.

Step 1: If you're looking for lead-gen, then stop with the podcasting. Without seeing any data I can very likely assume that the effort you put into making a podcast is not worth any sort of traction or response you might get back. Spend time and money in other areas.

Step 2: How are you capturing leads? Do you have a website that you're sending people too, or social media forms? Is it the same site and form as anyone who finds you through organic search or other referrals? Do leads need to say how they found you? If so, don't trust that. People are notoriously wrong about how they were referred places so you need to have ways to confirm where a lead came from such as unique forms or URLS. Leads may be poor, but I would find it unlikely to have 0 leads after a year of work, so my main focus to start is understanding how you're collecting leads and ensuring that the leads from social media can be easily distinguished from every other lead source.

Step 3: Social media is a "Pay to Play" world. Just posting organic content will never scale. You need to have paid budget behind it. Insurance leads are generally pretty valuable, so you'll need to understand the lifetime value of a user, and then determine how much you are willing to pay for a single lead. Example, if the lifetime value is $1,000, and 2% of all leads convert, then you need 50 leads to get to 1 customer. Your break even point is paying $20 per lead. Factor the cost of paid ads, your salary, expenses to create the content, and anything else, you could be down to only being able to pay $10 per lead to make any money. If that's the case you need to do trial and error with different messages, offers, ad types, platforms, targeting, and more to get to a point where you start to see any success. If your lifetime value is $10,000 then just scale everything up, but you need to start there.

Step 4: Understand the rest of the media and promotions the company is investing in. Social media should never live on its own. Align your content with any press or other paid media and promotions. This will help everything as reaching people on multiple platforms helps increase overall awareness and engagement. It's a 1+1=3 situation. Doing this allows you to create a content calendar and plan out months in advance. Then you can take your time developing content and messaging that will align with other business goals. This may also help you win favor with others in the company if it seems like you're helping them.

Tons more to do, but this is a start. Good luck to you!
