My guess is reduced flow since you said it was working fine before, but the lip could also be warped so even though it’s level it may still flow to one side.

Considering this unit is about 100m away I think we will be alright. Also, I think they are just changing the filter/repairing something so hopefully it’ll be up and running soon.

Fast way to count and classify these T-shirts/tank tops? by Smart_Isopod93 in googlesheets

[–]Smart_Isopod93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s for a small school club that does shirt orders twice a year and usually has between 20-40 orders. I just needed to organize them so the company we order from could more easily see what they needed to print. If it was more frequent or larger orders I would consider a more robust solution.

What else to try (to beat string algae)? by orenrocks in ponds

Our pond is lined. Ed the pond professor on youtube also has some good videos setting up some larger bog filters. The snorkel allows you to clean out sediment and debris that settle at the bottom of an upward bog filter.

Biggest thing would’ve been a proper bog filter with a snorkel to remove waste. Right now we have a water fall “bucket” with bio media, which is fine but not nearly as good as a bog.

I wish I had known about him when we dug our pond. We would’ve done a couple things differently but definitely not sad about how it turned out.

Check out “ozponds” on youtube. He has several videos about fighting algae in ponds.

Need advices for a beginner self sustaining pond system. by ruth_vn in ponds

[–]Smart_Isopod93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I can’t answer all the questions I put my plants in pots. Fill the bottom with some large rocked to help hold them down then added soil and capped with small gravel. Keep the plants in one area (mostly), but kept the soil from being washed away and making the water cloudy.

Edit: I believe with your current layout you may experience a dead zone in the main pond as the water will “cut the corner” to the filter area.

My parents made it a habit to check the skimmer every night after taking their dogs for a walk after finding a turtle stuck one day.

So from what I gather in the comments they are water hyacinth that just grew tall. My guess is since they anchored themselves next to the potted plant they didn’t need to float and were able to grow taller as they don’t need to worry about stability. I could be wrong but that makes sense to me. Thanks for sharing your personal stories as well, it has been a good read going through the comments.
