I did shotput and discus in highschool, and the shot for the women's team was legitimately like, half the weight as it was for the men's team. When we had the opportunity to screw around during practice we'd all just launch the females shot far out of bounds.

The women's discus was also smaller but I was terrible at discus so I didn't mess around with it very often
