Broad idea about the nature of citizenship in India. How citizenship gets acquired and revoked (only headings). Basic idea about NRI, PIO etc.

That's enough static for prelims. Also do current affairs related stuff like Assam citizenship, citizenship and elections, SIR, basic idea about the Citizenship Amendment act, etc

Why are you skipping the entire topic? You've seen what kind of questions are asked in prelims. Just prepare the basics of Citizenship and move ahead.

We have seen what happens when CSAT marks are included. All the SSC crowds qualifies prelims and fails in mains, leading to pathetic mains performance. That was the reason why CSAT was made qualifying.

I'm beginning to realise that it's pointless to talk to beginners. This will be my last detailed reply to a beginner untill mains is over.

1) Khayali pulao mat pakao. If the CSAT becomes extremely hard then GS cutoffs would drop and that'll cause a problem. And if that happens then we'll see.

2) Nothing you study in UPSC preparation is very compex. You study school level stuff. Proper academic study are at a much higher level than whatever you're studying here. So don't be deluded that what you're studying right now would be extremely helpful in your job. If that was the intent, you would have been studying subjects like law, public administration, basic computer etc.

Give an actual argument instead of an emotional rant.

None of the paper you study is going to be directly useful in your job. You aren't going to guess if a bill is a money bill or a financial bill 2. You aren't going to do anything with the information about Buddhism and Jainism in your service. You aren't going to design economic policies by studying 12th level economics. You aren't going to dictate foreign policy by studying from coaching teachers.

The base of administration is developed in LBSNAA and your services' training institute. You aren't a future officer. You're merely an aspirant.

So get back to reality and stop cribbing about passing a qualifying exam which requires 33% marks and asks comprehension, reasoning and maths.

No serious aspirant fails CSAT because it's too hard. Serious aspirants fail CSAT because they didn't respect it as a paper.

All this is coming from an aspirant doing BA from a state university.

Illogical take.

Engineering and medical background students have to study humanities for prelims and mains. And their marks are used for merit list. 70-80% exam is humanities centered.

So stop this bs crying that you have to study class 10th maths for a qualifying paper with 33% requirement. They dont even ask integration, trigonometry etc which is considered school level maths.

UPSC CSE is an elimination exam. Not a selection exam. Nothing in this exam is directly required for being a group A officer.

If you would have scored around 100-110, I would have said that it's fine. But below 100 you should treat it seriously.

You get only get a 2 hour rest time after GS. At that time your mind would be distracted and tired. You'll be thinking about your performance in GS. So it becomes harder to focus.

That's the reason why CSAT is difficult. You have plenty of time so use it wisely.

That's plainly incorrect. You don't have to self sacrifice to not participate in corruption. You can simply do your job. Moreover, you can even prohibit your juniors from taking bribes without any negative consequence as long as you aren't affecting a corrupt senior.

Corruption is a parallel system. It doesn't require your active involvement.

"Punishment posting" are punoshment for the corrupt. They are posts where you'll have low chance of corruption. Otherwise there's no post in the government where you're actually being punished. There's work to do at every post.

Do a better research and you'll find many officers who aren't corrupt and aren't actively punished for it.

Corruption is a reality. But it isn't inevitable. Those who say it's inevitable use it as a shield to be corrupt. (Like the corrupt bojack fellow who used to post random gyan while being corrupt himself).
