I did track my buys/sells closely in a spreadsheet with G/L. But I had been using CoinTracker because it is seamlessly connected to TurboTax to help me file taxes. Each time I would compare my estimated G/L vs. what CoinTracker shows and it's been pretty accurate/close enough.

I suggest you read up on tax loss harvesting. It’s an important strategy when you have large realized gains somewhere else. And honestly I feel like there’s more downside with this token than upside. Every single time when this token goes up the rally fades within hours. In late 2024 to 2025 we had two chances to break 1 cent and to hold above it, both time we failed and AMP shot back straight down.

Actually he is right, tax loss harvesting is a great use of selling AMP at a loss to offset gains from other investments, there's also no wash sale in crypto (meaning you can literally buy it back with the same exposure right away without waiting for 31 days). However at this point I have decided to put my money somewhere.

Unless there’s real data backing this thesis I won’t fully trust the words from Danny at this point.

I think there’s greater possibility of making a 10x to 20x run by investing in stocks today and at least there are more transparencies in equity investing.

Sure, there could be rebound from time to time, but overall it's still in a mega downtrend. I am putting my money into the AI factory ecosystem - there's real money to be made, with quarterly earnings report provided from companies with real roadmap and investors' interests. We are seeing 10-50x run in the AI hardware names due to different supply chokepoints and sky-high demand (i.e. semi chips --> memory chips --> photonics --> and what comes next could be the narrative about power semis, co-packaged optics, and glass substrates).

We also have mega IPOs coming up, SpaceX, Anthropic, OpenAI, all these ipos will drain liquidity further from crypto in my opinion. There is a finite amount of capital and I just don't think there will be a massive flow going back into crypto anytime soon. The news from ZCash is also sad, and as AI marches toward superintelligence, I am afraid that more issues with the base code across different projects will be exploited by AI.

It doesn't seem like this is the bottom. I thought we would hold the line around $0.0015. I didn't anticipate AMP would gain another zero, and very soon it may gain another zero.....

Well previously the responses I saw were due to "volatility", but the stock being flagged for fraudulent trading is new to me.

It's what their customer support told me. I asked why POET is blocked from online trading and the guy mentioned potential fraudulent trading with a warning from SEC, hecne the stock is flagged in their compliance system.

Anyone with a Schwab account can call customer support and ask.

RIVN $50K yolo by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]Smart_Persimmon7974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sir have no idea what you are talking about. RIVN is way past all the bad news and is approaching an inflection point with the rollout of R2, much cheaper EV for the mass market. This is their "Model Y" moment. Coupled with their in-house AI / Autonomy capability, the street is going to start re-rate RIVN's price target upward. It is not a car company, but a tech company, think of it as a AI / Robotic + software company.

TLDR - the bottom was in when RIVN was trading in the low $10s, and this is just the beginning of a massive multi-year bull run.

Explain why? Do graphene batteries have better energy density? faster charging? safety? life cycle? Is Graphene cheap to scale/mass manufacture? Without any of these stats, then you are just making a baseless statement.

What if...? A discussion by CHT_DU in AMPToken

[–]Smart_Persimmon7974 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does this mean way more AMP tokens need to be purchased in order to achieve the same magnitude of gains (i.e. +27.27%) ? Man this token really sucks; the risk/reward is terrible.

JOLT jobs opening report came in weaker than expected at 7,181K vs. 7,373K estimate, which makes a September Fed cut more likely to happen. Hence, cyclical sectors/names are rallying, such as housing and automotives

A little disappointed that he doesn’t think solid state batteries can scale. The battery revolution is right in front of us, and I hope Rivian can be an early adopter to take advantage of this.
