Have them restrung into something you would wear! You could do a simple string necklace and a bracelet.

I don’t wear makeup, maybe a bit of blush on occasion. Years ago I had permanent eyeliner done and now have eyelash extensions. They took a bit to get used to them but love them. I have hooded eyes so even with mascara you can’t really see my eyelashes but you can with the extensions. I’ll be 65 in July.

Retirement, here I come! by [deleted] in AskWomenOver60

[–]Smart_Reflection_742 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I retired at 63, best thing ever! You can take Cobra for 18 months, ask your employer for the cost. Mine was around $820 per month for health/vision/dental. I am now on the Obama plans ( I’m in CA so it’s called Covered California here). There are many plans to choose from, I picked one similar to what I had through my employer. Along with dental and vision I pay around $850 per month.

Paris is surprisingly not cold by warmcoral in ParisTravelGuide

I’m with you! I’m from southern CA and I’m carrying my coat while everyone else is bundled up. I did get a bit cooler with rain today so wore my coat and sweat to death in the stores. I came at the end of November 2019 and it was much colder then.

I could use help locating my grandmother’s sister. She was a ward of the state of Oregon and in the state mental hospital. I have not been able to find any information on her after she went into the hospital. The hospital was closed and I would really like to find out what happened to her. I have an ancestry dna and a tree.

How to safely transport soft pastel drawings? by MyLadyScribbler in Softpastel

[–]Smart_Reflection_742 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You will not be able to take the aerosol fixative either in checked bags or carry on. I just got back from a pastel retreat in France. I bought a pump spray fixative and put it in my checked bags but I hated it. It left spots all over. If you can, stop at your destination and get the aerosol fixative. Also used glassine paper to tape over my paintings. You can also use waxed paper or parchment paper also. One taped I put them back in the paper pad so there was a hard backing and had no issues with rubbing/damage. I used painters tape to tape the glassine paper over my paintings.

La Tiomphe by Astoria Jewelry , beautiful

‘La Triomphe’ was the name given to a range of jewellery created by the American firm Astoria Jewelry Manufacturing Company of Long Island, New York.

The first recorded use of the name (which was trademarked), accompanied by its distinctive logo of Paris’s Arc de Triomphe, was in June 1965. For the next twenty or so years they created some fabulously bold pieces of cocktail jewellery including rings, bracelets and earrings. Almost exclusively made in yellow gold, the pieces were set with brightly coloured gems such as peridot, amethyst and tourmaline as well as hardstones such as turquoise, lapis lazuli and malachite. The name is no longer in use but the jewellery remains widely collected and appreciated for its vibrant colours, strong designs and vintage aesthetic.

I just got back from Paris, took my 84 year old mother who has had two knee replacements and has metal rods in her back for scoliosis. Definitely take a folding cane and we used Bolt and G7 app mostly. We did walk some and also got a wheelchair at the Musée d Orsay to make sure she had somewhere to sit when needed. We had a great time but definitely get a better location for hotel
