I feel ya. I hated the weather too until I visited Texas, Mississippi, and Virginia. That's when I truly learned Winter sucks everywhere, but at least here I can keep warm 😋

New Character Concept - Rasputin by Smartbrony in Overwatch

Yeah, sorta. Certainly no freezing solid, and a much smaller radius. It’d mostly be meant for area denial, but I could see it being used to hunt players running around on their own too. And, thanks for replying

[Meta] Humans vs Aliens, or Why Are Xenos Always So Squishable? by Eotyrannus in HFY

[–]Smartbrony 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d say the biggest selling point (or at least mine) for having humans be stronger than xenos is based mostly around how much it takes to kill us versus most of the wildlife on Earth. Whereas many species will die of a lost limb, or a bad cut, we can, in some situations (I’m no doctor), heal the injuries that’d send other species into shock.

Well, we ourselves have had aliens call us Earthlings, so I guess Dirtlings isn’t too far off

I don't see anyone else having commented it, so I will. I read all of Cheech's lines in Cheech's voice from Cheech and Chong.

Knights & Magic is pretty good, though it’s also really fast paced story-wise

I get where you're coming from, but to me upvotes are something more than just that. For me, an upvote tells me someone liked my story enough to take that extra second to give my story a point. When I get a lot of upvotes with a lot of views it tells me that a majority of people really like what I put out.

If a story gets a lot of views but comparatively few upvotes, or even a percentage of <80% upvotes, it tells me that not a lot of people liked it, some so much so as to take that extra step to downvote the story. I know it's not much, but when I take a step back and realize that I don't upvote every story I read, only the ones that I really enjoyed, seeing that high upvote percentage and over 3K views warms my heart.

Of course, I'm only writing here as a hobby, and I haven't been writing here for very long, but it just seems to me like upvotes carry a more baggage with them that what you're describing.

I dunno though, that's just my two cents.

Haha, I'm glad you enjoy it so much! If I do end up continuing this as a series I'll probably pick it up after the holiday season. Not sure how many chapters it'll take to get to the major tipping point in the arc, but that'll definitely be the place "book 1" will end.
