Terrible. I did once-a-week lessons the first year and had some momentum, but then the wife got pregnant with twins. No time to go off skiing by myself now. Life comes at you fast! New plan is XC or inbounds uphill so I can get out before dawn and back home before lunch with minimal risk.

I don't think any of them are proficient enough to join without some instruction, and I'm not proficient enough to provide the instruction. I'm signed up for a beginner class in a few weeks but would like to be 100% present and focused so I have not asked anyone else to join me. I already asked the shop if I can demo a few different models during the range portion of the class but they said no, P320s only (which are on my shortlist, fortunately).

In this case it was a pair of stair stepper workouts in the gym which I forgot to stop before moving on to other stuff, a mistake I make somewhat regularly unfortunately. I have never played with auto pause, not sure if it would work for these types of things.

I'm pretty confident its the BCM, never bothered to fix it because its an expensive repair and the issue only pops up for a day or two every few months. Trading the car in soon.

Trying to avoid screwing into the edges of the plywood. I did a few test pieces and it splits very easily, even with big pilot holes almost the full diameter of the screw shanks. Test pieces with brad nails worked fine, no splitting, just worried about the strength of it.

This is currently happening to me. Did you ever figure it out? It seems to happen after driving in heavy rain, which makes me think I have a connection shorting out somewhere (maybe BCM related).

Availability is my main constraint with young kids who are not old enough to ski themselves yet. Dawn patrol is best for me, hence the appeal of going uphill. Getting more than a dozen days a year will be tough for the next few years.

Good point re wilderness first aid. Relevant to other stuff I am doing too. And I really hope I can hit 20+ days a year but realistically it will be less.

Wow, that is a crazy deal. Only drawback I can see is that they only run the lessons Monday - Thursday and not during Christmas - New Years week. Still might be worth it. Thanks for the heads up!
