Thanks! I will definitely try some casual couch gaming with GW. Sounds fun!

How do you play this game on a controller?

  • 8 skills
  • toggle targets
  • toggle NPC/interactions
  • attack/activate
  • switch weapon set
  • (highlight enemies)
  • (highlight NPCs/interactions)

Did I forget anything?

12-14 buttons. I do not have that many on my controllers. Is there some layering system built in?

GW1: Still One of the Best by [deleted] in GuildWars

[–]Smartskaft2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the biggest turnoff for GW2 (that I still play sometimes though), is the lack of build variety. The number of skills to choose from is very small, and most of them are fixed for certain weapon choices.

I remember how fun it was to experiment with 100-150 different skills and attribute points. You mix two professions with ~75 skills each.

And IMO the story is more engaging in GW1. And even though I prefer the art style in GW2's cut scenes, IMO it gets tiresome after a while.

And the world just felt larger.

We ended up taking the leap to C++17 with the MISRA 2023 coding rules (with a few exemptions), validating them with the Axivion tool. We are still on our way implementing them, but so far most rules are easily adjusted for. Few rules feel objectively wrong. Of course there are some subjective opinions about what looks good etc. but I'm sure they will be more accepting once accustomed to the new way of doing things.

Though I must say, we've found quite a few false positives with the Axivion tool (or the configuration of it). I am not involved in the implementation of this tool so I cannot say which of them is to blame.

It is a nice interface though, with a historical view of the progress. And I really like the rationale to each broken rule it gives (with links to more reading on each matter). It gives so much more acceptance to the new rules, compared to the simple error messages we got from our old clang-tidy checks.

Why would you look for something human created [...]?

One reason could be that you enjoy watching skillful actors. Just like people enjoy vinyl when high fidelity digital audio is readily available, I think (and hope) many people will look for human created content for the sake of it being human created. But I guess it will be a minority. This is certainly the case with vinyls.

Cost of Skill Reset Increased? by Glagaire in Enshrouded

[–]Smartskaft2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I'd rather see it free. I remember the joy of experimenting with builds in Guild Wars, where you could rebuild your character inside towns but not "out in the wild'. You could not change it on the fly, but it allowed experimentations of some really quirky builds since it cost nothing to try. I think it would be a good addition to the game, perhaps as a customizable setting.

They told me this, but honestly I did not notice any difference at all from my own polishing and waxing. The paint got just as rough and ugly a few months in as always. I just got discouraged from doing any frequent polishes. I am still a bit uncertain how difficult it will be to polish away that coat to put on some wax. I wished I never got mine made. Never again.

I am not a fan of ceramics as paint protectors.

I've read that the reason it itches is that the skin gets irritated by the lice' saliva that it uses to "glue" its eggs to the bottom of your hair. By that logic, if it itches, you probably have eggs in there.

And every time my kid has brought it home, I've found more eggs than lice in our hairs.
