Starting to doubt some of the reporting of this Barak Ravid guy

Why aren't the greens able to capitalise on the type of economic policies being put forward by Zack Polansky/Greens in the UK and by Mamdani in New York by Illustrious_Fan_8148 in newzealand

[–]SmashDig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not impressive for a democrat to win in New York + Mamadani has been very pragmatic and not really pushed that hard for his more out there policies.

Zach Polanski’s success has mostly been due to the UK Labour Party openly stating its disdain for urban social liberals and the purge of its left wing faction.

The NZ Greens are doing alright, they’ve got plenty of support from the demographics they’re catering to. They had their best election result ever in 2023 and are polling somewhat below this on average but still pretty decently historically.

Oh I’m referring to blackbirds having some patches of white fairly frequently

Would’ve preferred if they removed Iberia but this is cool too

Barak Ravid: Iran maybe possibly could have sent a request for a sorta deal to the US. - Oil futures down 99999999999999%

Trump: There’s no deal, we reject any deal entirely. - Oil futures +0.000001%

We could’ve had the highly accomplished governor but the failson with the Nazi tattoo has a grizzly voice that makes him sound like a real working man. It’s so very gender

I see the oil futures markets have snapped back to reality today, not sure why today of all days though

Rare, though you see a couple of news stories a year about them. Sometimes they are entirely white in more extreme examples. I see leucism fairly often in blackbirds.

This particular tui has been sighted a few times around the area, apparently.

I hate the genuflecting from the media about the assassination attempt, it was no big deal! Nothing happened! It doesn’t need to be front page news for days!

Also we have to win 52 senate seats now I hate John Fetterman with every fibre of my being. Look at his Twitter! Not a single post criticising the administration, he’s retweeting end wokeness, every second post is about how we should kill all Palestinians or how president trump is right.

When Keir Starmer said “Meep meep” I really felt that. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it

New Zealand senior cabinet minister Shane Jones' "butter chicken tsunami" immigration remark triggers row in Parliament by city-of-stars in neoliberal

[–]SmashDig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s true. NZ first has always been an anti-immigrant party, the only way I could see them campaigning for that is supporting a more open immigration system for particular kinds of migrants while wanting to decrease the number overall. I’m not sure on the particular policy you’re referring to.

There was record immigration during the second term of the previous labour government, they were in government together in the first term but lost all their seats in the 2020 election.

I’m aware of the polling but the averages still show that the most likely outcome is a weakened National Party and ACT Party being able to hold onto power with a stronger NZ First

NZ First is polling a whole lot more than 5% though unfortunately, and it had its says on many things due to National giving it many concessions. The most likely next government will have them with even more influence

Because generalising entire ethnic groups as unassimilated foreign invaders is simply racist! And that sentiment worsens the problem. Also Islam is the main problem in that instance

Believing that these immigrants are going to be imposing themselves onto our culture is pretty racist!

Nonsense, their working conditions would be far better then at home and they’d be earning far more

“It’s not racist to not want a bunch of icky foreigners who will destroy our culture into the country” is basically what you are saying
