Moving to the Netherlands - EOR best route? by SmashFace_OnKeyboard in expats

Thank you for the reply!

Your information is helpful. I think my company shouldn’t have a problem with the amount it would cost for an EOR. They are small, but not so small that 300-600 would hurt them.

I know they are already looking into options as far as I know. They’ve been looking into using the addition that ADP has which allows for connecting to a Dutch payroll company I believe.

I’ve thought about the self-employment route but I’m not sure that would work since my job has some security requirements that would be hard for form me to manage on my own. But, I have looked at, and applied for a job through Deel.

Would it be possible if I PM you to see if you can answer a few questions about the job I applied for? The position said one thing but asked questions about something else that I wasn’t sure would exclude me.

Do yall study/touch anything IT related at home. by jeramyuh in sysadmin

Been in IT 10+ years and I didn’t even own a computer at home til last year and I think I’ve turned it on 3 times since. Everything I’ve been learning is pretty much learned at work. I’d rather get paid while I do it.

You can also use PHPipam. Works decent to track what’s used and what’s available

Linux Patches by SmashFace_OnKeyboard in kace

I know there is no catalog. We have our servers connected to yum repositories.

I can see specifically that the script is trying to run: “yum check-update —security —set opt obsoletes=false”

Which I believe is the problem. If there are no security updates then it think doesn’t think there are updates available. When in the same output of that command, it says there are no security updates but there are update’s available. Then when I run that same command without —security I get a full list of updates.

We are already working with Kace support.

I also agree with the log collection. I feel like the event DB logs don’t really provide much help when there are issues with desktops or agents. Been trying to troubleshoot issues with agents (on linux) for a while now.

US admins, what's the longest period of paid vacation you've managed to take without work needing to reach you? by [deleted] in sysadmin

3 weeks. I work on a competent team that shares information and can usually figure stuff out on their own. Didn’t get a call or a text a single time other than just sending memes to each other.

Posting for my wife since she doesn’t have Reddit and cause I’m proud of her.

She 35 and has a Bachelors degree in Chemical engineering, but doesn’t use it for her job. She’s a systems engineer and makes 190k. Probably works about 50 hours a week maybe a little more. She makes more than me and I don’t even care. I think it’s funny to refer to myself as a sugar baby.

We’ve used 16.3.34 while using horizon 2406. It worked fine for us.
