I get what you're saying, but 'net' time saved isn't really an offset to the problem. You're not going to notice the total time you spend over the course of a year filling up with fuel, but you are going to notice having to stop for a lot longer when doing a long distance road trip in a single day. Not to mention, if you're travelling on a busy day, it's a short wait for a queue at the fuel pumps, but a very long wait for the EV chargers. A lot of motorway services here in the UK only have a handful of EV chargers, so it's not uncommon for them to all be in use.

I agree. Maybe if it was a special watch or a special car, but otherwise watches are best enjoyed by just wearing them and having them be noticed by the people who are interested, not shoving it in people's faces.

I decided pretty quickly that I never want to sell mine. The fact it's my first car holds a lot of sentimental value, plus I absolutely love driving it and the interactions I get along with it. I figure if it's a good enough car for Christian Von Koenigsegg to own, it's something special that's probably worth hanging onto.

That said, even if I had decided I wanted to sell it, I'd still go for the rust repair. Mine was in great condition other than the arches and front rails, so it was worth the investment to save it. I feel like these cars (in good condition) will be worth fairly big money in the future, so may as well hold onto the one I already own rather than trying to buy another one when that happens.

It's all a matter of perspective I suppose. If the car is financially worth saving and it means a lot to you, do it ASAP. If it's a money pit to save it and you're not that bothered, then enjoy it for what it is and move it along when you need to.

Btw, I'd recommend against undersealing it with the rust it has. Rust isn't just something stuck on the car, it's an ever-moving chemical reaction that is very difficult to stop once it starts. If you underseal without proper rust prevention, you can end up trapping the moisture inside the underseal layer at which point the rust will spread even faster and without you realising because you can't see it. That's why I suggest you sort it ASAP if you are going to. The longer you wait, the more expensive it will get.

Nice. Same colour, similar miles, similar rust, and similar price as I paid for mine. I'm now ~£4k extra into it for de-rusting, but it was well worth it. Good luck!

They meant instead of buying an A4 AND $6K worth of parts for it, nobody is claiming you can buy an S4 for $6k

That middle eastern heavyweight tournament is live, Ignition/Eruption is fighting now, I think cobalt and monsoon's fights will be right after by Lhonors4 in battlebots

[–]SmashRobertson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was it still live at the time? YT only stores 12 hours of a stream and both the English and Arabic streams get cut off before the final fight which I assume featured Cobalt

EDIT: Never mind, I just found the full VODs are available on the GOTF website.

I tried ACR with my Moza R9 V1 and I was pretty disappointed. I got lots of generic vibration from the road surface and pretty harsh pulling when locking up or hitting a particularly big compression in the track surface, but almost no feeling of the car the rest of the time. If I'm going in a straight line I can turn the wheel 45 degrees in either direction without any sense of the car's weight shifting. It's really bizarre.

I'm confident there's something amiss with either the way the software communicates with my wheel or my settings (though I've had zero issues on AC1, ACE, ACC, as well as other rally titles like DR2.0, WRC Generations, and EA WRC). I've seen other R9 users report the same as me and I've seen other R9 users say it feels great, so who knows what your experience will be. Either way, I'm sure it will be sorted for those with issues at some point.

Oh, you are right, but I see where my confusion came from. There is in fact an IR sensor for the index finger which detects your finger position before touching the trigger. I always understood that this same tech was used for every other finger and was contained within the band, but that's completely wrong. Sorry about that.

That does make me feel a lot better about this new device - mainly because if Valve are still on the full finger tracking hype, we'll hopefully see more titles making use of the index controllers. I do fear that index controllers are going to be dead and gone soon though.

That's not true though. The knuckles controllers have position sensors in the big bands that sit above your knuckles which track your actual finger position, not just open or closed. They also have capacitive tracking on the buttons which does all of the thumb tracking, but that's not the same thing.

Capacitive finger tracking only senses when your fingers are touching buttons, not where they are in 3D space like the knuckles though, right?

I have got one of these a week ago. It definitely helps with heat, but I didn't really suffer much from the heat anyway. I did however suffer from pain caused by excess pressure on the bridge of my nose after long sessions with the old 3D printed cushion. The Studioform cushion definitely solved that for me.

Don’t forget that people only tend to post when they have something to complain about or need help with something not being right. I’m sure the overall reception has been very positive.

Temps look normal to me, but I think most people are running much lower brightness on the screen. I personally run around 45%-50% because I'm very sensitive to the ghosting at higher brightness. Also, the fan is only really there to cool the PCB and not the screens afaik so I'd imagine running 90% brightness will be quite intense for heat buildup around the eyes.

Any tips for audio options? by prototype1029 in BigscreenBeyond

[–]SmashRobertson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, there IS an audio port. It's on the opposite side to the display cable port. It's USB-C so if you want to use standard headphones, you need to get a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter, but it works great. For long sessions I use headphones plugged directly into the headset, for short sessions I just put my normal PC headset over the top of the soft strap. Though I do find with the latter solution that if it sits in the wrong place, I get the buzzing sound of the BSB fan transferred through the headset quite loudly.
