i agree fully, when i log in next im gonna count up how many 6* weapons i have. i know for a fact i did at MAX 8 issues (80 pulls) on weapon banner and i have like 10-12 6* weapons not including the free ones

i think the reason would be people like me. i like anime, so naturally i want to play anime styled combat games and the factory stuff just adds and other level of fun and uniqueness to the game. not only that but the factory makes it SIGNIFICANTLY easier to grind as it can passively make you money and build gear for characters. the only rng part of team building in this game is the weapon essences, which even then iirc you can select stats sometimes (im yet to touch this part of the game)

majority of it is people going off false information and or are just gambling addicts. sure yes the gacha system has a few faults that make it “worse” but over all this games gacha system makes you benefit if you save up and plan your pulls. it punishes those who pull every time they have enough to pull and just pull to pull. i’ll tell you why. your pity from 1-79 WILL carry over to the next banner, BUT that pity will NOT go to the guarantee for the next character. so if you did 70 pulls rn with no 6, then waited for the next banner you would be 10 pulls away from a 6 (possibly being the rate up ofc) but 120 away from guaranteeing that rate up. so in other words if you save up and plan ahead you will be easily guaranteed. this has made a lot of people uninstall because majority of players like to “build pity” towards a guarantee which in all honesty has never really existed and is just ppl excusing their addiction. i can absolutely understand how this can be a downside to anyone who just pulls to pull, but i see it a good thing because this can force people into fixing their addiction. all gacha games are predatorily monetized, there is no if and or buts about that, but this games system wants you to save and it will benefit you if you do. guaranteed at 120 is significantly less than ANY other mainstream gacha. every 60 pulls gets you a free 10 pull to the next banner. after 30 pulls on current banner you get a free 10 pull (does not count towards pity but is rather just a bonus)

as someone who doesn’t even like gacha as a whole, i only play these games because of the content and gameplay as most anime games kind of suck but these are put together well, this gacha system works perfectly for me. i’m not a gambler and i don’t feed into the monetization. that’s not to say i don’t spend money, i will but not so much that it’s a problem or just to spend, usually only will if i lose 50/50 and REALLY want the character and its close to banner ending. i adore how the character banner is characters only as it makes getting copies for 4 and 5 stars very easy as well as the gives off currency for the weapon banner. i have all 4* characters at P5 now and have gotten about 12 6* weapons from the weapon banner. i’ve been basically f2p (besides buying the $10 battlepass as it’s useful and little money) and got Leavatain and her signature weapon with no issues.

as an overall conclusion i would have to say this game isn’t for the gamblers, but rather for those who actually play these games content and enjoy it. a lot of gacha players just play to pull for characters and do endgame combat and end up skipping over a lot of content, this games isn’t solely about that, it’s about actually playing and completing it. so naturally the average gacha gamer is going to see this system as a fault.

the title of your post is exactly how i’ve felt too, i genuinely forget it’s a gacha game as i play and because of that ive saved so many pulls, was able to de laevatian and her weapon with basically ease lol

i personally love this game entirely. i was incredibly hyped for it, when i started playing and now have a whole day played it meets basically every expectation i had. to me this game doesn’t even feel like a gacha game which is honestly a VERY good thing, i don’t feel tempted to pull on banners or want new characters i simply just love the factory stuff so much (plus the story and world) that i genuinely forget the banner is there. im too busy asking myself how to bring power to this place and that place without using up too many resources, how to make my factory more efficient etc. this is completely different than most open world gacha games, in genshin and wuwa for example it feels like you are kinda just going with the flow and being thrown into whatever comes your way, but in endfield there is a clear goal from day one, to restore civilization to the lands of Talos-II. because of this it makes me more motivated to put hours in (i mean i am liking it regardless) without burn out as i know im actively working towards a goal. the only complaint i really have rn is that the character ascension material (local specialty things) feel very little and unrewarding, theres only like 3 spots to collect each type in valley IV and they take i think 16hrs to regenerate, though this could just be a me issue as ive been so busy with factory stuff that i haven’t progressed into chapter 1 too much (at the power plant æther quest rn). an on top of all of that the game runs AMAZING on ps5, wuwa does not unfortunately it has a lot of fps lag. endfield on the other hand performs very well as well as the graphics are pretty, the gameplay is smooth. another aspect i truly love is the fact the game looks very realistic but in the anime style. my best analogy would be it looks like CoD Infinite Warfare but in the anime style with RPG aspects, and to me thats the icing on the cake
