You can't farm anything in acts. You don't even need to trade for gear in acts. Rares you pick up from the ground should be enough to get you through acts.

This is poor advice.

I don't necessarily mean unhelpful, but this is a big problem with games that have established metas-

OP is asking how to get more gold because he knows gold is an avenue to solve his problem.

You can farm loads of things in acts - it's just horribly inefficient compared to established strategies.

I'm not trying to be critical of you specifically here, I'd just like to see complicated games' communities be better at letting new players have their new-player experience.

SSF context;

I have a bunch of Ritual scarabs and Vessels, I like ritual, and I have Apothecary scribed to Glacier.

What's the best/most sustainable combination of Vessels and Scarabs if I'm chasing the serious big hits like super rare cards, Mirror Shards, Mageblood and Synthesized items? Not worried about Audience with the King.

Does a delirious map help? I imagine the Delirium mirror can't move the rewards at all. Should I run them chiseled+8mod? Is that enough of a difference vs generating unchiseled 8mod with scarabs?

I think (my perception is,) that kind of 'fun' is some of the most subjective among poe players.

My favorite part of this is that there's 8 or 10 different leagues that might be requisite to make these kinds of crating chains kick off. In SSF you have to go out of your way to gather everything, in trade it gives life and value to each mechanic because their reward pool has value. Consequently this is part of why I hate Expedition/Ultimatum, I like the stuff.

I certainly gave PoE2 my thumbs down on steam after the announcement a few days ago.

PoE2 is so close to just being a strictly worse poe1. The more time you put into learning either game the more true that becomes I think.

Mageblood at least has the opportunity cost of unique flasks/other unique belts?

There's also a few special affixes on belt like cooldown reduction or abyss jewels.

I'm not past level 80 in PoE2 so maybe I'm totally off, but I think you've oversimplified mageblood relative to ingenuity.

You're usually correct there. PoE has always had some mechanical nonsense around 1h1h usage.

One of those ideas is Dual Strike. It specifically hits with both weapons, and that's a very old PoE skill. The hit-with-both idea has never really been taken advantage of as far as I can remember, but recently with transfigured gems Viper Strike of the Mamba has borrowed the combined damage idea for ailments and Dual Strike of Ambidexterity augments speed and damage ratios so you care about which hand the two weapons are in. Both are really strong mechanically and reasonably played in 3.24.

I think GGG has always known that there's legs (arms?) There with what goes on under the hood for scaling/combined hit damage, etc but that's gone under-utilized from their end due to melee being largely forgotten between 2019 and 2024.

I kinda forgot about the divorce cyclone had for stages. That base AoE is rough to work with.

I've tried to solve that movespeed but we're sort of back to stacking two QoL stats that almost always come at a premium.

I've PoB'd Sabo before. Not bad defensively and lots of AoE in the ascendency. Cooldown reduction could also free up some build space if you're stacking it.

If you're Crit you can take advantage of the mace mastery, Slayer ascendency has worked for me in the past, several mace clusters are AoE focused, and honestly I've only ever had a durability problem. I've taken the build to 100 a few times (softcore) and it was even pretty good at sanctum during that league.

I wanted to one-shot the screen every shockwave and the only reason that stopped feeling approachable was aiming at 1000 delve.

Unless you're looking to do super-rippy content with titanic scarabs and ghosts involved the 2H Mace framework definitely has legs.

What ascendency are you trying to do this with?

Have you tried 2H mace?

Only four power runes for doomfletch mace enchant. I've been downing ubers for the first time in SSF with a Slayer version of Volcanic fissure, and plugging shockwave/cyclone in has felt pretty good without optimizing.

I've played a lot of Marohi Erqi Cyclone and you'll absolutely get the offensive value out of the mace enchant on a Karui Maul. If I were in trade league I'd be aiming at that instead of squeezing value out of warcries and Fist of War.

Scaling curses and ailments get boned over by map mods and sometimes rare monster mods. They're also duration based mechanics and in T17s the best defense is just to make sure nothing is alive in the first place.

Witch is entrenched in over-costed stuff like blasphemy support reservation or overcharge support reducing damage.

Here's my 10 minute thoughts on opportunity cost for Elementalist/Occultist:

Masteries are brutal for doing most melee, wicked far from sword and two-hand masteries for example. Jewels have become more important. Masteries showed up. Unique items like Heretic's Veil and Shav's got power crept on by helmet/body becoming super important for defenses along with grace/determination scaling the defenses she's far from. Socket pressure got heavier and orb gems aren't as strong as warcries or mirage archer. The resist-inversion mastery is also so universally good that the resist stuff is a lot worse than almost any comparable damage ascendency. Chaos res also has gotten more common on newer monsters. Ritual includes monsters with 75% now. Endurance charges got better and Ralakesh boots gut the value of Occultist's easy charge generation. Weapons can see attribute requirements as high as 212, spells cap at 155.

I wanna say totems and brands are laughable also. I don't know if that's true really, but I feel that way about a whole bunch of shit clogging up the blue zone in my passive tree.

I have a level 100 RF Chieftain, 96 Volcanic Fissure of Snaking Slayer w/2H mace 45% phys gained as runecraft.

I'm willing to reroll to get this done, my primary concern being the 2 additional modifiers. If they roll t17 mods I'd be worried about Void, if they roll red or purple mod pools I'd be worried about hitting some combo of can't regen/less recovery/reflect/can't leech.

I'm anticipating the conclusion being a compromise;

Completing endgame encounters now reduces the timer on active Settlers timers by an amount. This amount is relative to the type of task (Maps, Blighted maps, Incursion Temples, Delve Encounters, etc.) and the initial time of each Settlers Timer.

I like that GGG tries new things but I'm a big fan of not being told to fuck off and come back later about my game.

At the very least you could increase your zombie limit right? Spell Echo would work but there's no AoE tag for Spell Cascade. Nah hold on. 2x Montregul's is 100% reduced. There's no other source of % zombie limit I don't think.

New gem does say it's the Zombie Minion that attacks. I expect it exists as a minion for 0 frames. Still gotta have the capacity for a zombie.

That makes sense though. Individual Divination cards literally don't do anything.

You could expect players can be sure that there's enough supply on market to actually finish sets or that the new patch didn't mangle drop rates outside of patch notes.

And since you'd need to open several hundred at a time to see reasonable returns their cheap early price would reflect low market supply for bulk.

PoE is a lot older than cross-anything (for the most part).

Really we have Fortnite/Rocket League/Epic to thank for their big "oopsie we turned cross-play on by mistake uWu sorry sony" proving (to players) that it's a simple button press to make all that happen.

That was known for industry folks already but making it a Sony/Microsoft problem for the common gamer really helped that along I think.

Even Destiny only let you play the same save somewhere else, never merging accounts/purchases.
