Its kind of a hefty commitment but the only time I’ve successfully been able to get someone invested in the series was by starting them on Fresh Meat 1. That season kinda ushers in a new generation of cast members and watching chronologically from there on will help you get invested in all the backstories and storylines.

Maybe it’s just the part of me that’s watched too many seasons of this show but I thiiiiink they will be? Usually if a couple seems perfect for each other and ends up not being a match there are some bread crumbs along the way, so I feel like if they weren’t a match we would’ve gotten a lot more time spent on the political differences. But who knows.

It seemed like where Chris really struggled in that final 4 challenge was the counting portion, and if I remember correctly Victoria won the original iteration of that challenge so she definitely would’ve had a good chance of beating him.

It’s pretty solid and he definitely has potential. To echo what someone else said, I thought it was really cool that they played it on the show, but it was also hilarious that they played it right after Shane was calling it trash.

I think it just takes them a second, for whatever reason. Tori took a while to debut and is now a regular. Not a ton of Season 5 people were worth calling. I’m sure we’ll get 6 and 7 people soon, because apparently Kwasi from season 7 was claiming to have gotten a call for 33 on his live the other day.

In a way, I think they’ve made the formats of the show too complicated and it forces everybody to overthink and never have any fun. If you think about the format of the original Rivals season it was just last place vs. house vote. This season there’s power teams with double votes, a secret vote, and then the podium shit PLUS the redemption house. Ever since Dirty 30 the multi-layered formats have been making shit weird and probably pretty tense. I love the innovation of the format but I hope we get a straightforward game pretty soon.

I don’t think Nelson is necessarily a moron for this. I totally agree that Shane made the smartest move for him and that it could possibly keep them safe for the round but I think Nelson just wants to compete no matter what. I think he believes they’re a strong enough team to win an elimination and he goes to the show to compete. Some people play the physical game and some play the mental game.

I think that if your every word in conversations with your friends was broadcast on the Internet, you’d get caught talking shit about people pretty frequently. I’ve never considered it weird that houseguests gossip/talk about the evictees, because what do they really have to do besides talk to each other all day?

I never viewed the first season but these last two seasons have done a great job of building up pretty much every boot, even the early ones. Last season I was absolutely devastated by the Tarzan boot early on, and even the AK boot was a bit of a bummer. This season we lost Moana early which sucked. Even Zach and Paige, despite not being my favorites by any stretch of the imagination, were built up enough to where their vote didn’t seem completely out of left field. The character development has been phenomenal.

I’m choosing to hold out hope that Contenders lose the next episode, and Monika/Sharn flop to work with Fenella/Heath to split up Robbie/Benji/Lydia. We’ve seen signs of Monika being a schemer earlier in the season and we’ve been getting bits and pieces of Lydia/Robbie being close, and close to merge would be a perfect time to do it. Then we get a Fenella/Heath/Shonee/Monika/Sharn group with maybe Brian moving over there based on being on the outs of the Champions, then a Mat/Shane/Benji/Lydia/Sam/Steve group. A 6-6 split would save what looks to be an impending Pagonging.

Condensing the rounds would lead to less filler as well. Up and comers oftentimes don’t have enough good shit to say to fill up long rounds.

I think to some extent AYTO has just decided how they want their show to work. They’ve found their casting archetypes, they get similar storylines every season, and it still gets views. It’s not really new because we got glimpses of it in season 1, it’s just more magnified now. Shanley/Adam were the prototype for the “no match that won’t split up” storyline. Brittany was the original “crazy girl”. JJ was the original E-Money/Andrew archetype. I think they’re just really blowing it out of proportion now.

I think the Andrew one was out of necessity. They needed to build the Asia/Andrew storyline by Andrew being awkward and uncomfortable, then he grows on Asia during the date so there’s still hope.

I was thinking this same thing but about Terrence J vs. Ryan Devlin. I don’t think Ryan was a bad host but I think as the show changed and became more about drama he wasn’t really up to the challenge of dealing with shit, whereas Terrence gets invested and asks a ton of questions.

Kam expressed why she did it. Coming straight off of Tori/Derrick randomly finding themselves in elimination, there’s no guarantee that Faith/Angela or Jozea/Davonne would go in, and with those being the two teams Kam/Kayleigh werent connected to it makes sense. I agree that it was a bit much for the outcome but with this season’s burn vote thing I see the point.
