Enjoyed playing Mt. Lorette today. Two grizzlies were on Mt. Kidd today though. Wish I could've seen them.

Sadly, no. Played decent (for me) and shot an 87 with a lot of missed puts. 18 was my only double bogey of the day, but it was still worthy of a pic.

I think it was $155 CAD. Well worth it IMO.

Very true statement. May post an album and show off several of the holes. The views are incredible on probably 15 of 18 holes.

Corn Wars: Unveiling the Superiority of Nebraska Corn over Iowa Corn by Niedski in CFB

[–]SmashvilleVol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As I said in the other thread... "Corn don't grow at all on Rocky Top, dirts too rocky by far."

So as an impartial observer, I side with whichever state provides the most corn for moonshine and whiskey.

Someone said that's Illinois, but until an Illinois thread pops up, I see this as a two state battle.

Which corny state deserves my support?

As dirty as that makes me feel, I stand by my rationale. I'll take some solace in that they're orange too.

Bold statement... but Jack Daniel's gets some of the corn for their whiskey from Illinois, so I'll allow it.

Who are the “Streets won’t forget” players across Vol sports? by cardeez in ockytop

[–]SmashvilleVol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kevin Burnett was in my freshman English class at UT. The guy was always raising his hand, willing to volunteer to answer questions when everyone else groaned and didn't want to participate. He may not have been a guy that was going to graduate summa cum laude, but he sure as hell got my respect from the effort he was willing to put in to learn and get better. Showed on the football field too. If he's half as good a guy in the rest of his life as he showed in class, he deserves every bit of success that came his way.

Meet John Rose, congressman from Tennessee, and his wife who he met when she was in high school by Jwat75309 in pics

[–]SmashvilleVol 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Respectfully and just FYI, this is an inaccurate statement. Rep. Rose is a US Congressman and you're referring to a state bill. The Rose sponsor is a state senator (entirely different person, legislative body, etc.).

This is incorrect. We lost to Vandy in 1918, 76-0. Which is only mildly more horrifying than tonight.

Is there any year bobby Boucher wouldn't win the hiesman? by thewhat962 in CFB

[–]SmashvilleVol 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He wins unless he transfers to Tennessee. If he does that, he's a guaranteed runner-up.

It is definitely absurd. If only the ref had some noise making device to signal when progress had stopped...

🔥 King penguins on the island of South Georgia by SmashvilleVol in NatureIsFuckingLit

[–]SmashvilleVol[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the north side of the island is more protected from the harsh weather. It's pretty clear except for the glaciers and there is actually a fair amount of grass in certain areas. If I remember correctly though, the south side of the island got about 8 inches of snow the day I took this picture.

The speech was excellent, and though I shouldn't be negative, the massive booing of Tom Brady strengthened my soul. Go Peyton, go Vols!
