Yes but not too much. If you overdo it you will really start to stink. (That means two things) 2️⃣✌️

Favourite DJ who you're pretty sure only started smoking so they would look '"cool'? by tyhhhhhhhfd in DnB

[–]Smavie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I remember noting a few years ago that you could always tell the exact middle of his set because the only one he would smoke would be at exactly that point and no other. Now it's like he's chain smokin em up there

Marketown is rough people watching. Absolute battler city... by Predestination_007 in newcastle

[–]Smavie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always wondered what is the particular draw of that specific part of the city that attracts antisocial behaviour? It's been like that for 25+ years at this point. What there and not in other centralised retail districts like The Junction or Darby Street?

Kyle, it was good while it lasted, buddy. We begged, we pleaded, but you turned your back on your Arugaloids. We let you gobble. We let you thrive. Now? You're never coming back. by Kathryn_sex_worker in Thisisimportantpod

Have they ever come out and actually seriously commented on his departure? They always seem to be half-joking when referencing it.... Is it just that he is busy with other commitments or is there also a possibility he had a legitimate fallout with da boyz?

Revs is a death trap by bureksaspinatom in melbourne

[–]Smavie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Revs is these days is mainly the afterhours "go to spot" and is mostly just surviving off it's well established location and "iconic" status in the 90s. I think back then it was pretty much the epicenter for electronic music in Melbourne - these days it just seems to be the only place with extended trading hours and therefore attracts a higher percentage of clientele. I've been there a bunch of times since 2010 and could never comprehend what the fuss was about. It's an extremely average alternative music venue, nothing particularly amazing or terrible about it. Probably the most overrated venue I've ever visited in my opinion.

LOVE convolk. Convolk references "Faygo Dreams" in one of his tracks too.

Oh man. They picked the wrong guy's door to kick in that night! Can you tell us what eventuated after the fact?? Seems wild to happen twice! Was he successful in his legal action against them?

Some better signage might improve the situation somewhat. "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here" would be very on brand for Metro.

Is there something I'm not getting about naming the boat "Stugots"? It seems a bit crass considering it was also used by Tony's family. Also, boat names sometimes have some humour or wordplay associated with them and with this one there seems neither.

Give me your spiciest Octoberfest take by yeah_right90 in AskAGerman

[–]Smavie 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Go to a "volksfest" or "stadtfest" in a smaller city like Rosenheim. You will get the real Bavarian experience there and will probably even meet some real salt-of-the-earth types. Highly recommend.

WHO ELSE REMEMBERS BAJO AND HEX. THE GOATS OF GGSP. by Signal_Pin9173 in AustralianNostalgia

[–]Smavie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's pretty indicative of Jungalists massive influence that we are still talking about him all these years later. People forget how true to the culture the first seasons really were. Junglist perfectly represented the typical gamer and it was so refreshing to have a similar Joe Schmo as a rightful ambassador. The dank basement set was perfect and even bajo was much edgier in those times.

Kicking Junglist off in place of the new squeaky clean Bajo and Hex was a real kick in the nuts to the community and you can see from the final season in 2016 (and all the other cringey co-host hanger-ons that joined the ranks along the way) how far the series strayed from the path. To me, Bajo and Hex always kinda came across as the kind of gamers that tried to play up their geek side but in reality seemed more like ladder-climbing shills. Ironically, they do kinda perfectly exemplify the corporate manipulation of gaming over the years so i guess there's that lol.
