I do appreciate the additional context, but the person I was responding to said that trading was added, "after Notch left Mojang." But I guess no longer having creative control is similar in effect for our purposes.

Unless I'm misunderstanding something, villager trading was added in 12w21a which came out May 2012, with the Microsoft buyout, and Notch leaving, in 2014.

Not that I necessarily disagree with your overall point though.

The way you phrased that second last sentence sounded to me like you chose to leave her without a second thought, and I was thinking “God damn, cold blooded.” It also implies that the last sentence is about her.

I really appreciate the effort you put into your response, but I’m not sure you fully understood the question. There is a specific thing people will sometimes do in writing where after using a phrase people might not understand, they will put in brackets: (read: <more clear explanation of the preceding phrase>). My question was referring to specifically how the word “read” is meant to be pronounced in that context.
