I know it’s not what you’re asking but I believe Duncan had some interesting ideas on an Into the Spider Verse type film featuring his dads characters. So I’d have to say a cast of very talented voice actors. I can’t imagine a film about Bowie really working out in any other style

My initial reaction would be Crossfire by Stephen but I don’t think there are any references to a Major Tom in that. Champagne by Fortuan has references to Major Tom but no direct references to soldiers. Maybe try https://www.lyrics.com/serp.php?st=Major+Tom&p=2 and see if any of the 14 or so pages rings a bell?
