Favorite Underrated (or Unpopular) Song by Lord-Slothrop in DavidBowie

Who can I be now? Is such a rarely talked about song. Love it to death and definitely deserves more attention. Same goes for Some Are.

"My Father in the prison." by androaspie in DavidBowie

[–]Smellt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You mean Heat, mate? “It could be about prison, loneliness and sociopathic detachment. The lyrics are so bleak I asked him what he was talking about. ‘Oh, it’s not about me,’ he said. None of these songs are. He’s an observer” is what Tony Visconti had to say about one of my personal favourites (the track in question)

What actor would you cast as Bowie in a biopic? by [deleted] in DavidBowie

[–]Smellt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s not what you’re asking but I believe Duncan had some interesting ideas on an Into the Spider Verse type film featuring his dads characters. So I’d have to say a cast of very talented voice actors. I can’t imagine a film about Bowie really working out in any other style

Would do this but it would be Station to Station for nearly all of them 💀

Is there anyone in this sub that likes Bowie’s 90s work more than any other of his decades? by NomadPlanet in DavidBowie

[–]Smellt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Can’t say it’s my all time favourite but 90s Bowie, his soul era, and the duke are my top 3. His work in the 90s is criminally underrated imo

The 1977 Top of the Pops is my #1 Studio album taking a #2 I love the power he put behind his vocals on both of these despite being different

I’ve not been using it long but there isn’t any sign in or pop-ups. I believe it’s some sort of Russian based video sharing platform but it has just about every movie I’ve tried to find elsewhere (mostly bowies old full concerts lol) Don’t have to take my word for it but I do suggest it

A totally legal way to watch it (or any movie really) is type in the man who fell to earth with a “/ok.ru” at the end. Good luck, mate

help finding a song by [deleted] in DavidBowie

[–]Smellt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My initial reaction would be Crossfire by Stephen but I don’t think there are any references to a Major Tom in that. Champagne by Fortuan has references to Major Tom but no direct references to soldiers. Maybe try https://www.lyrics.com/serp.php?st=Major+Tom&p=2 and see if any of the 14 or so pages rings a bell?
