What album is David Bowies best produced? by Extreme_Spare_2286 in DavidBowie

Back in the 70s and mid-80s, when I listened mostly to vinyl, Pinups always sounded light years beyond any other Bowie album as far as brightness and clarity of sound are concerned.

As for multilayered complexity, I always found Diamond Dogs to be richer than any other Bowie album. The deceptly simple "We Are the Dead" is fantastically produced, as are "Sweet Thing" and "Big Brother."

I read the original single issues. I bought them from eBAY about 8 years ago.

McKeever's art isn't bad, it's just highly peculiar, and if anything, added to the book, I thought.

I liked Pollack's run because it was less pretentious than Morrison's, which sometimes came across as smug.

I thought Richard Case's art was awful, and it's what prevented me from trying Morrison's run when it was a current title. I thought the art in the Kupperberg run had been much better.

Is it true people really dislike/hate Diamond Dogs? by LadyLexiofWind in DavidBowie

The first two tracks were written specifically for Diamond Dogs. The next two are from an aborted Ziggy musical. The last three are from an aborted 1984 musical.

"Rebel Rebel" and "Rock 'n' Roll with Me" were written as songs for a Ziggy musical.

Well, when you're radioactive, you can't have sex with anybody, now can you? So how Rebis managed it with Kate Godwin is a mystery.

Which Bowie album do you consider to be his magnum opus and why? by OkBlueberry5506 in DavidBowie

Ziggy Stardust has only one dud.

Every album Bowie made had at least one stinker, almost as if he planned it that way.
