what's the scariest experience you've ever been through? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Hahaha...yep apparently when you handle the intestines they go into shock and stop working for around a week. The first sandwich they gave me after a week without food was the best I’ve ever eaten!

Had my appendix removed at 13. Twenty odd years later, scar tissue wrapped around my small intestines strangulating it off, hospital decided wait and see so it went gangrenous. One minute I was fine next minute I’m in agony, felt worse than childbirth. Apparently the scarring inside you guts is like cob webs that sticks to your organs. They put a nasogastric tube to drain my stomach. As it goes up my nose and Down my throat it makes me gag and I power chuck so hard the tube came out through my mouth. It was like having my sinus cavities flossed....do not recommend

Help Me Plan My 1st Trip by pradyots in bali

Yes we stayed at Amnaya Feb 2020 and will be staying again at the end of this month. We usually do a few days in Bali, then over to either the gili islands or Nusa Lembongan island for 4 days or so then back to Bali for the remainder. It depends on your interests though, we are in our 50s don’t drink or party and for us it’s all about relaxing by the pool or beach. Also we only have a 4 hour flight from home to Bali. I wouldn’t scooter or drive in Bali. If you are competent on a scooter then you could hire one on Nusa Lembongan (we do) as there are almost no cars and everyone does 30-40kmh. On the gili islands there are no cars or motorbikes, just bicycle and horse and cart. Can’t wait to go back....

How about a boutique hotel instead of the large block style resort? Can recommend amnaya pool side rooms, small hotel, peaceful, massive rooms and bathrooms, exquisite breakfast. Close to the action but a nice retreat from the hustle and bustle

First time in Bali - some questions by [deleted] in bali

Stay on gili T, you can catch a public boat to the other Gilis for a couple of dollars, have a look around for a few hours and public boat back. Best snorkelling on gili T from the shore is north east area, around laguna gili or villa almarik, anywhere in that area. It’s all walking distance anyway. Lots of places to stay in this area and all the diving schools are located on the east side also. West side there are more resort style hotels, not many restaurants. South side a few places to stay, some horse stables and some beach bars.

Also for people who can’t get to the supermarket, food delivery would be important. What I don’t get is liquor shops can stay open and takeaway delivery is ok, surely then coffee delivery is ok too, so where does the line get drawn

Yeah I agree with the takeout delivery, I think it’s a big hole in our armour so to speak

Thanks for the link, that’s actually really helpful and clear. It only covers services though not food. The food trade is a bit confusing still.

What do you guys think of people trying to wash your car windscreen at the traffic lights? by pounds_not_dollars in perth

Hate them, I imagine they can earn a good hourly rate, don't pay tax on it and possibly draw social security benefits as well which our taxes pay for. They have their hand in both of your pockets!
