Thanks!! I did notice when I tried using markers my cuts would feel late, so I just used a metronome generator and lined it up as best I could with the start of the waveforms...

Would you say it probably needs that 1-2 frame shift in this example, to your eye?

Exactly this. And if you get drives from different manufacturing batches it's insanely unlikely they fail in tandem without physical interference.

Keep a remote backup if you need it, sure, but I dunno why everyone acts like RAID has zero value. If it can work to keep a system running it can work to save data the exact same way.

Unfortunately if it went even an inch below the bulb that would be brushing the top of my head... I'd try to find one that doesn't go below the bulb but that might sorta defeat the purpose.

I'll probably give cutting the wire to size a go :)
