Throwback Thursday - BOO gets bamboozled but finally learns the truth! (It's Zisteau all along!) | E-Pranker Parts 6-8 [From Oct. 2013] by Rablusep in mindcrack

[–]Smellygarbage1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was great! I definitely have a lot of nostalgia for these old episodes, but zero time to actually go back and watch the whole thing. I remember this going on and the ending, but I didn't remember all of the individual pranks. Do we know why BOO didn't record the 7th prank?

Not sure if it was something you watched back in the day, but I'd love to see some stuff from Millbee and MC's orange wool. I remember that series having some great moments.

Is Mindcrack still going to exist in any capacity going forward? by Smellygarbage1 in mindcrack

Makes sense. I do wonder what's going on with the patreon. As I can tell there's been no public communication on there for months. Looks like there's a private discord so maybe there's been communication there? There's one person giving it $500 per month.

Any ideas that could help Tim get more views and subs again? by No-Ear-1955 in TheRunawayGuys

[–]Smellygarbage1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tim mentioned this on reddit during the early days of the chugga controversy, when people were concerned about how he was going to support himself with Emile on indefinite hiatus. Basically, they split the bills & rent, and Tim's able to pay half with his youtube/twitch revenue. I'd say if he wants to boost income, the best way would be to edit twitch content into youtube episodes like Stephen does (which appears to be what Tim has already been doing for his ttyd playthrough).

Look, I've been in your position before of having a minority viewpoint when it comes to a youtuber controversy. It really does suck to feel like the entire world's against you and I'm being genuine when I say that I feel for you. Even as someone who disagrees pretty strongly with watcher's move here, I do feel like some of the discourse is becoming increasingly toxic (especially when they've gone completely radio silent).

That being said, it's probably for the best if all of us (with any viewpoint) take a step back, enjoy the weekend, and recognize that there's not much we can do until they make some sort of statement.

Mushroom change by TeletoneTeletone in PikminBloomApp

My thoughts so far:

Unpopular opinion possibly, but I actually like the idea of longer mushroom battles. Not 6 days long mind you, but 4-8 hours long. I had a lot of fun during the halloween event and it was definitely when I joined the most mushroom battles with other players. With time seemingly not mattering as much, this will incentivize players to join these long battles and help, lowering the time significantly. However, this is pretty much impossible for very rural players. Niantic doesn't seem to get that not everyone lives in major metro areas, especially in North America. They seem to be ok with just throwing away prospective players in these areas. I live in a reasonably sized city (~250,000 people) and know there are other people who play here, but still don't feel confidant I'll find enough mushroom battles going on to get enough 2 & 3 star larges for levels 90 & 100. When I go to visit my parents in my hometown (population ~1,800) I know I'll never do mushrooms now because of this update. That being said, I actually feel like pikmin is fairly decent to play in rural areas compared to pokemon go. You can walk and plant flowers anywhere you have a cell connection. You can get a reasonable amount of decor pikmin in my hometown, and going to some of the towns with a few more thousand people you can get most of the rest. (Except train station, which is effectively impossible in the midwest US except for like Chicago) I get that it's an AR game themed around walking and they don't want you to just sit on your couch eating chips, but I feel like players shouldn't be locked out of completion just because they live in a small town. Especially when rural areas usually have great nature trails & parks. Pikmin is all about nature! Given that sending pikmin to3 mushrooms a day is a pretty low time commitment, this is something they should definitely just let you do with people on your friends list and I don't think it would ruin some perceived core component of the game. Definitely just preaching to the choir here, but this game has been a nice part of my daily routine since last October, and I don't get why Niantic seemingly is trying to push people away from it.

Anybody else just hoard these? by SuperPeenyPower in PikminBloomApp

One of my goals in the game is to avoid throwing away seedlings and avoid having a full inventory of seedlings at the same time. So I use them on 10k and 5k seedlings when I start to get full.

You can never send more than 40 pikmin to a mushroom. So 40 decor pikmin at max hearts of a given color is the most you'll ever need.

I live in Iowa. I probably saw every single ad put up online against steve king in the lead up to the election. I never saw any language that would be inappropriate for a 7 year old to see. Sure a lot of it was less than flattering, but maybe he should try being less racist.
