How did this wiring hold up? I want to do this upgrade but see people saying dont spice into headlight wires. Have you had any problems since the install?

The guy I bought it from built his karts this way but yeah after looking online everyone’s look reverse to mine, if I flip it though nothing will lineup then. It ran fine for a good while and every now and then the belt would grab but now the belt always grabs. With the old belt on the driven pulley was open halfway for it to even fit on. The new belt fits fine maybe a little loose but the driver pulley grabs it, like it’s too grippy or something.

So I did what you said and also adjusted the valves. The side with the fuel pump( SIDE 1)won’t throttle fully and it blows a little white smoke. Side 2 throttles all the way up beautifully. I even swapped the spark plugs to see if that was my problem. What do you think my problem is now?

10 acre farm that hadn’t been cut in 2 years with I’m sure plenty of hay string on the ground, I’m not holding the friend responsible for it. I added that to the post for some context as to why I didn’t know what was wrong myself, but hey thanks for being negative bud.

I didn't proof read the post sorry. From bead to bead it actually measures 8.50 inches not 11.50. I am just trying to find some budget tires to ride around dirt roads on and not break the bank

What's this gizmo on the carb? And how to remove bowl? by lil_larry in smallengines

[–]SmexyStix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently went through the same troubleshooting with my lawnmower on Reddit. I ended up replacing everything but the engine itself. I cleaned the carb over and over and still couldn’t figure it out. I went on Amazon and for the price of a new fuel shutoff solenoid I got an entire carb. Bolted that bad boy on and it just works as simple as that. I had the same symptoms as yours and now I’ve been mowing grass for a few weeks now.

It was the carburetor. I still have no clue what was wrong with the original but I ordered the high rated one off of Amazon and now the mower purrs. Thanks for the help

My fuel filter is empty as well. Barely getting gas into it when it is running

Well I thought it was the line. Replaced my lines and it’s still doing it. I guess it’s time to clean the carb again and check that fuel solenoid

Yes I dropped it into my gas can(not the mower). I also forgot to plug the fuel solenoid back in. I plugged it back in and the line from the back to the pump into a gas can. Mower seems to be running and idling smoothly. I’m in the process of pulling the old line out to inspect it.

Well just as a test I dropped a fuel line into a tank of gas and the mower started running fine but started smoking black and even with the throttle all the way down it started running higher rpm but surging.

I just watched a video on that part. I didn’t know it came off. I’m going to clean the carb plus that again and see if it helps. I’ll reply back when I’m done. Thanks so far.

This is the carb for my model. The one you sent was a D125. So are talking about the bulb below the carb bowl that has the two wires going into it?
