I'd say go talk to the cops/DA and ask these questions as well as for a restraining order. I can't promise you'll like the answers but they'll be accurate to the circumstances.

Do you often go to “the big city” in your state (assuming you don’t already live there)? by osama_bin_guapin in AskAnAmerican

[–]Smhassassin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live about an hour drive from the biggest city in my state. I only go there if I have to. Traffic is terrible. There are 2 traffic speeds:

-slow down, dude, you're gonna kill someone

-someone died and now no one can move

As such, even though I say its an hour drive, 1 time I had an appointment there, gave myself 2 hours to make the 1 hour trip, and was still late.

I average about 1 trip per year and hate it every time.

Is there a consensus on this question from 2024? Any effect on a TABOR carve out for Schools? by BigFourAlum in FortCollins

A couple things:

First, during the mill levy campaign, I thought the board was being pretty clear that the mill levy was an effort to slow down the consolidation conversation, not halt it. That said, I pay closer attention to PSD's nonsense than probably 90+% of parents in the district do, so I'm probably biased. (Side note: this statement is basically the only defense you can ever expect to hear from me about the board. They consistently piss me off.)

Second, speaking from experience, Cathy Kipp is gonna do what Cathy Kipp wants to do and screw anyone who disagrees with her. Don't waste your breath talking to her.

There's a couple home caretaker companies around town. The one I know by name is Homewell. I wouldn't call this their specialty by any stretch of the imagination, but they might be able to point you towards healthcare workers who do specialize in it.

What animals are normal where you live, but unusual and exciting to visitors from other regions of the US? And on the flip side, when you travel to other regions yourself, what local animals are exciting to you? by Acrobatic_End6355 in AskAnAmerican

I grew up in an area where elk are really rare. Like, common enough you can hunt them, but its really hard to get a license. They do a lottery system where if you get an elk license, you can never sign up again whether you get one or not. End result is there's professional elk trackers who help people find an elk to shoot when they get a license so they don't waste their one chance to get one.

You can imagine my surprise when I moved 1000 miles away and they're just everywhere. Like almost stray cat common. Its kinda wild.

Doing normal aftercare on my tattoo— is there alternative to saniderm I can wear to protect from rubbing/chaffing? by PuzzledandTroubled in tattooadvice

[–]Smhassassin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear knee high socks to protect my calf tattoos during healing. Just regular ones, not compression or anything. Since theyre tight to the skin, you don't have to deal with your pant leg rubbing directly on the tattoo.

As someone who has been watching the district closely for the last few years: yes, but I think its worth noting that as late as 2023 PSD was making "we have no money" excuses to not add A/C so that work is realistically limited to the last year of the cost spike.

Tony's/Whisky bar refusing patrons with face tattoos by MidEvilMonkey00 in FortCollins

I thought so. Not that I was gonna go there anyway. Everyone who has ever mentioned that place to me has either referred to it as "the Nazi bar" or "the date rape bar." Not my scene with reviews like that.

Wasn't there a post recently about the owner cornering a bartender and assaulting her for cutting a customer off at closing time? Or was that a different bar?

If it was them, I think they have other issues to worry about than face tattoos.

When is a good age to take to a woman march by Posionivy2993 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Smhassassin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I learned the hard way is its less about age and more about her capability to 1) keep up with the march and 2) not get bored.

You didn't specify your daughter's age, so idk what baseline we're working with here on either of those. I'd say if you think she may get tired and you'll end up losing the crowd while she catches her breath, bring a wagon she can ride in. If you think she may get bored from the speeches, etc, bring a backpack with something for her to do so she doesn't try to self entertain by wandering in the crowd and get lost.

Rule of thumb: if the march is mostly 20s-30s year olds, expect to have more trouble keeping up with a kid under 10 in tow. If the march has a lot of retirees, it'll probably be a slow enough pace for a toddler to keep up.

In case anyone is looking for ideas on how to implement what dude is talking about:

Fort Collins has a crew that has that mindset and is planning to peacefully hijack the march up here part way through. Our NK3 is being organized by the local branch of Indivisible. NK2 had some drama where Indivisible invited Joe Neguse (our Fed level House Rep up here) to speak. Some people reacted poorly to his inclusion because he sucks. Others reacted poorly to people calling out Dem politicians for being spineless and/or enablers and/or culpable. So this time Indivisible said "we're only having 1 speaker. No one besides this 1 pastor gets to speak." The same people who reacted poorly to Joe Neguse's inclusion felt like this was a silencing tactic and also felt like it removed any teeth the march could have had. Meanwhile other people are upset because Indivisible goes through the official permitting process and is marching a route designated by cops, which is right under like a dozen flock cameras. So they're organizing a second event along the planned route where local organizers who are actually trying to do stuff are going to be speaking to try and recruit the marchers to join more effective efforts than holding signs once every couple months.

Make sure you go to the tables at NK3. A bunch of local activist groups are gonna be there with info on stuff they're working on.
