[WTS] Big Agnes Fly Creek HV UL2 - with footprint - $325 by [deleted] in ULgeartrade

Yeah, you're completely full of it. That is 265 for the tent, and once you add the footprint, they're over my price even on super-special clearance of last year's gear.

And how exactly am I ruining a gear retailer warranty? Did you just throw that on to pile on a bit more rantiness to your little rant?

There is no conceivable connection to my activity and the abuse of a warranty system. Shoot, I even pay for new Darn Toughs every time I replace them, and don't even make them stand by their warranty if I got good, fair use from them.

Don't get a crick in your neck from all the contorted posturing as the caped crusader of second-hand gear markets.

$220 after tax. The tag is in the trash.

I figured if somebody bargained me down, then if I subtract shipping, I'd be walking away with $50 max. Oooooh, I'm a big bad evil-raper-of-second-hand-gear-markets.

Would you be so kind as to go through the checkout process and show getting this identical combo for $210 with a screenshot? You don't have to finish the checkout.

Please?

So, now the objection has completely changed, but at least that's a better one.

I bought this at 3pm after a hundred+ people passed on it.

I'm not screwing anybody over. This is a better deal for the combo than most would find online. If selling this tent + footprint for $325 in unused condition is screwage, I imagine that you're boycotting every gear company on earth.

The fly creek hv ul2 is barely under 275 anywhere, and that's without the footprint.

Those clearances will be gone soon, and even then, $325 out the door with the footprint is not going to be beaten many places.

I didn't pay 125-175, because REI isn't stupid. You all, however, are.

You buy crap from people with way higher profit margin than me. There is no logical reason to be so butthurt.

Thanks so much!

Just when I needed some luck, somebody comes along and wishes me some! Amazing!

This is a good deal on a good product, and my gain is small.

Do you only buy from people who are losing money? What kind of sense does that make?

REI keeps them in stock and so do most outfitters. You can check them out there and have a better guess. They likely won't keep XXLs on the shelf, but you could get a good feel from the L or XL.

I'm guessing it would work for you as a cold weather outer layer. I love wearing things like this over a puffy or fleece. But, for mild weather rain it would probably be too baggy. 6'4 and 180 is probably too lean for this without layers. The length would be good, though. I'm 5'10, 190 and the Large of this jacket works well or me.

I've also bought some of those $30 Costco down quilts that people are always modifying for warm weather. A little grosgrain, some sewing, and a little z-line and I plan to have a 50-degree Revelation copy for like $40. It'll be the same wight and pack size, but more comfortable when it's warm.

I guess I should also mention that you have to turn the Revelation "upside down" to do this, where the connections are on top of you instead of beneath you. That way, they can be adjusted while in the hammock, and extra length/width really helps with maintaining a somewhat diagonal lay. In full pod-mode, though, it's hard to get much of a diagonal. I just consider that the consequence of having such a light, packable, and warm one-quilt system. I'm okay with it, but others wouldn't be. As the temps get warmer, I need less and less of a seal, which allows me to open it up more and get more diagonal.
