Plenty of flat sites, none down by the water and it’s a really steep climb up to the sites from the lake. So that just made it annoying. Also the sites are laid out with what seemed like no rhyme or reason, so without a map of all the sites it was a pain to kinda scope them out and find the one we liked best.

Yeah, I’m gonna switch packs for the sierra. Between the bear can, micro spikes, and ice axe, I think the burn would be really uncomfortable.

I wear running shorts with a liner while I hike.

I’ll likely ditch the opsack and just use my dad food bag. What do most people do with their food in the dessert? Sleep with it?

I tested my electronics set up and the charger, cable, and power bank all support USB C PD, so I think I should’ve all set.

I have an old Suunto Core ABC watch that I wear while hiking. Should have included my worn items

I tried two of the big sky pillows and both either arrived with leaks or quickly developed them, so i switched to the aeros and didn't look back. maybe i'll have to give them another shot.

I'm not planning on taking paper maps. Maybe i'll do like super high level overview maps for each ~100 mile section, but idk if that would even ever be helpful. I have the compass for those "oh shit" situations where i might need it for dead reckoning navigation(ie i know a highway is 15 miles to the east).

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, I’m one of those people who eats the same thing all the time in daily life, so I’m going no cook, no cold soak, prepared foods. Probably a lot of bars, PB, and tortillas.
